Lovely little hardware and model store. Family owned place full of nostalgia enducing model plane, ship and car kits.
A fantastic little shop. Like being in a Time Machine. Loved all the old cabinets and drawers that originally came from a chemist. Run by a fourth generation family member. So friendly and informative. Great mix of hardware and models.
I visit the shop from Leicester because of the lady being pleasant and polite. She is knowledgable, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. There is modernity coupled with nostalgia. How refreshing to find such a jewell in the crown.
Always a brilliant, friendly and helpful service. They somehow seem to have 'just the thing'' you need . For general DIY bits, almost always cheaper than the big stores!
My experience at apple bees was alright. At first, the owner of the shop was calm and welcoming, as the days went by the owner of the shop started talking behind my uncles back, then to combat this he proceeded to write an honest review to which she then banned my older brother and my uncle. Baring in mind my older brother has autism and has nothing to do with this yet he still got banned for actions out of his control. She also refused to let him come in the shop until the review was taken down. He has also helped her in the shop with various tasks and gave a helping hand when needed. This is very un acceptable behaviour from the shop owner and immature!
Great business, been going here for years. If you don't know where to look for what you want, try Applebee's. Brilliant service.
