Went at lunch time, no jacket potatoes despite being on the menu... Plumped for a pork and stuffing cob instead, asked for apple sauce but they didn't have any. Regardless pork stuffing cob was nice. Asked later about afternoon tea that was advertised, conflicting views on weather or not it was an option despite the walls and most tables displaying the offer. Eventually staff agreed it was an option. Had cup of tea and carrot cake, both nice but the cup was chipped and had definately seen better days, older female staff clearing tables said quite loudly, in full ffs when a couple sat down on a table she'd just wiped and used portable chairs to section off an area where she didn't want anyone to sit. I was shocked at the whole lack of politeness of staff, I think they must have all been having a bad day. Hope tomorrow is better for them!
Great cafe, great food, lovely service, Nice place to go for a meal, lovely warm friendly atmosphere with lovely service from lovely staff. Even going there for years. I am really sorry its closing, its not going to be the same without it.
Nice simple cafe, clean, well priced and foods pretty good. Service with a smile for the most part but everyone has their off days so expected some times. most times I've been I've had a good natter with staff.
Visit pretty often but was informed they have had to change the oil, due to rising costs and I didn't like the chips that were cooked in it. So stick with jacket potatoes and I know it'll be alright, they do a wide variety of hot and cold meals and the staff are very efficient and delivery is prompt. Just sad we may lose this cafe as been told they may be forced out due to Greedy landlords ( always about over-the-top rents) it's been a conversation amongst the regular customers for a while now.
Very nice home made beef pie & cup of tea. Nice and warm cafe in this cold weather! Friendly staff. Cheers John
