A pub I visited on a number of occasions over the last 3 years since we moved to Long Eaton but hadn't been since the new ownership came in. The environment and staff were absolutely spot on and really made your visit incredibly warm and welcoming. Sadly this is what I would have said 6 months prior. From our very first interaction with the bar staff (an elderly "gentleman") we were met with a hostile interaction. We were called liars, met with a ridiculous amount of sarcasm (not the funny kind) and just straight up rudeness. We tried 3 times to order drinks and each time this man just straight up refused to help until he eventually asked us to leave. This all started over asking him to bin an empty can of coke which hadn't even been consumed on the premises. One of the worst pub experiences I have ever had and it's hard not see why the pub was completely dead and a lot of the recent reviews have been so negative. This man really needs to work on his customer service skills otherwise I can't see much hope for the future of this place. He also needs to remove the invisible chip off his shoulder before speaking to potential customers because I have never seen anyone actively try to sabotage their own business earnings.

Last night, some friends and I visited the Mill & Brook for a drink. When we arrived, I was carrying an empty Coca-Cola can that I had finished on the walk to the pub. We found a seat, took off our coats, and my fiancΓ© went to the bar to order drinks, still holding the empty can. He politely asked the bartender if he could dispose of it and then attempted to order. The bartender immediately became aggressive, insisting we should not have brought the can inside since it wasnβt purchased there. My fiancΓ© explained that we had only just walked in, hadnβt seen a bin outside, apologised, and again asked to buy drinks. The bartender then called him a liar, claimed we had been drinking it inside the pub, refused to serve us, and asked us to leave. We were in the pub for no more than five minutes and left feeling shocked, upset, and angry. None of us have ever experienced service like this before. I fully understand that outside drinks shouldnβt be brought into a venue, but the can was completely empty before we entered, and we were attempting to buy drinks, which made the reaction even more confusing. We will absolutely not be returning.

This is a discrete but friendly small pub, offering an opportunity to have a quiet drink and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Long Eaton town centre. I visited on a Monday evening from about 7.20pm, expecting it to be empty but not only finding a small crowd in both the lounge and the bar, but acoustic entertainment being performed live in one corner. However, I had no difficulty in receiving prompt and diligent service at the bar for myself and two friends in need of refreshment and snacks. It is convenient to those who wish to explore the Erewash Canal and the many interesting sights to be seen from its towpath running all the way from the centre of Nottingham to Langley Mill in the Amber Valley. The Mill and Brook represents a handy stop off to anyone heading in either direction; with a short walk to the town centre shops too.

Friendly pub, visited on a quiet Sunday evening, met two nice dogs and several regulars. Many beers and ciders available, plus whiskies as well as some food options. Although next to a main road the car noise wasn't distracting. Toilets are clean and looked after.

Lovely clean pub on the canal bridge. Refurbished around 2018, then changed ownership in 2023 to the Lincoln Green brewery. Good choice of beers and some lovely bar food, including tapas and Ploughman's lunch. Great staff. Good prices. Large beer garden to rear.

Decided to try this pub again, now it's been taken over by Lincoln Green Brewery and has a new manager. Absolutely, lovely pub, our new local! Always a lovely welcome by all the staff whenever we go in and a really relaxed atmosphere. Great choice of beverages including lots of Lincoln Green Ales. Decided to try some food last night and so glad we did! Tried the pizza, buffalo chicken bites and potato bravas. All well cooked and presented beautifully. Definitely recommend a visit. Keep up the good work Ash and the team!

Went in yesterday with the pub under new ownership, Lincoln Green. I had the Hood that was absolutely superb. One of the best pints of beer I've had in a long long time. If these standards are maintained they should do well.
