I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. My partner and I had lunch in here over a year ago and we have been back almost every week since. The food has always been fresh, cooked to perfection and very well presented and as a coffee fanatic, this place is hard to top. It is a clean, well maintained restaurant. Finally, the team that work here are the absolute best, they are friendly, interactive, positive and honestly make the dining experience.

Food was fine, really nice decor however despite it's great location I will not return to this restaurant. Manager was unprofessional when I made the comment about the temperature, only I was with an older person with mobility issues I would have gone somewhere else. His attitude was the worst I have experience on entering a restaurant. I get it is hard to please the public but when you pay £36 for brunch you expect a certain level of politeness. We moved to the back of the restaurant and other customers commented on it being very chilly and staff seeming a bit off. I had been in the restaurant six months previously and the service was great, better than the food, very welcoming but something has changed.

Unfortunately, I have to take back my positive review for this place. I used to go often to this place but since they changed the menu and their attitude (the staff became impolite) i do not like it anymore… The food portion is REALLY small and definitely this place has nothing to do with healthy food eating. I have to mention it because they promote themselves as healthy. So no you won’t definitely find healthy food, as long as they serve fried chicken in burgers… it’s a typical Belfast boring menu with small portions. Atmosphere still very nice. Guys please change the rude waitresses.. it s bad for you. Previous review: I don’t really see the reason why people have bad reviews about this place, especially when in Belfast there are only very few nice coffee shops with some sense of style and good food, as most of them are ugly, cold, and so dirty (usual British style)… Fuel is relatively new place, personally I ‘d say a very nice place to have a coffee and eat something. In terms of atmosphere is the best in Belfast. I am a usual customer and never had any bad experiences with the staff (I don’t really see the problem with the people saying that they are not polite). In fact the staff is really polite and every time I was there, the staff treated me a small chocolate at the counter before I leave. There is no other place in Belfast that even serve a single peace of treat without charging for it. It’s not a big deal but still makes the difference. Now, regarding the food there are many things that need to be improved but I won’t say that the food they serve is not good. The food is tasty and the soups are really nice. My only complaint and I have told you again, is the small portions (I.e. mango wrap) and the lack of diversity. You could add much more on your food menu. The burger is really good and the coffee is perfect. U could also expand the time that kitchen is open. Almond croissant is the best I have ever taste. The guys know exactly how to serve it. Also the place is very clean, which is very important for me, as most places in Belfast are stinky and so old fashioned…. P.s. Unfortunately you stopped serving the chicken toast (see it in my pics) which was the best from your food menu. Hi I never really understood why, but I hope to see it back as it was a very nice healthy ad tasty option.

Despite the poor reviews I thought i would give it a chance, something i regret. Staff are grumpy and clearly hate working there. I will mirror the other people about the absolute hilarious protectiveness of the round seats (they are not exactly first class private rooms...it is a round seat). Food was just average. MEH!

Was going to avoid this place based on the reviews but glad I went in for myself. I read the multiple comments around the booth and sure enough when we went in I witnessed a waitress explain that the booths are for 3 people or more to other diners. This made me laugh. The food was lovely. Very tasty and fresh. The staff (all female in our time) was lovely and the atmosphere and décor was lovely. Its bigger inside than you realise. Also worth mentioning that my fellow diner is Vegan and also said the food was lovely. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wish they had more options on the menu. Some of the pics of the meals uploaded with these google reviews didn't exist on the menu. For example there was no sandwiches available. Even if we could access the menu online, but apart from that no complaints. I will be back.

For a cafe that opened with a bit of a reputation (due to the other two in the south) I've been really underwhelmed in my two visits. The decor and atmosphere is nice and it's a comfortable place to sit. However, the service and food leave a lot to be desired. The service is possibly the least friendly that I've experienced in Ireland since moving back last year. The food is very hit and miss. A couple of things that we've had were quite nice but the avo on toast was awful. Plus the smoothies are actually worse than Innocent smoothies from the supermarket. There is nothing fresh about them.

The food was good (not stunning, but good). The female waitress / owner is always friendly and helpful. The guy who works there / owns / manages needs a lesson in basic customer service. I have been 3 times now and that is more than enough. He is so overly protective of his precious "booths" (a round seat). One of the times we went, literally NOBODY else there and without a smile he said "well u can sit in a booth this time but usually its not for two people" and stomped away. Every single time. Same thing. His precious booths. First time we arrived he talked through us to the waitress "Don't give them a booth, only two of them!". Way to go to run a business and make you feel welcome. We won't be back. Business will be gone by summer unless he learns some manners.
