Arrived slightly early but seated straight away, a small delay in taking our order but very busy as Christmas, understandable. Great food and drink. Thank you Lois who served us she was great.

After our daughter had her engagement here it was the natural choice for the wedding reception from meeting Jo and discussing what we wanted to the day exceeded our expectation a special mention to the chef and the team who were first class in looking after us everything was perfect

All in all the experience of the treasury was okay but I think that the reputation was higher than reality. We had the function room upstairs for a birthday that I was a guest of. Some of the negatives were: - Lighting was really poor, lots of the ceiling lights were out. - The beers that were on draft were either warm or tasted sour (Doombar). - When I asked for bottled beer instead I had to pour the drink myself. Again there's the expectation of a place like the treasury and then there was the reality. 1 thing that was flawless was the food. Sauces, quality or variety the food for the buffet was fantastic. I'd definitely attend another event if I was invited but I wouldn't arrange one myself.

Lovely interior. Initial great welcome and quick service on the drinks, however we waited almost an hour for our order and only after asking how much longer did it arrive, therefore as we had an appointment to get to, didn't have time for dessert. Food was good when it eventually arrived.

The table service was good, very pleasant server. The food was very mediocre, dry and tasteless. However I am well aware that dishes may vary in quality, don't have the fish cakes. The toilets however were a different matter. One of the ladies' loos would not flush, I reported it to the bar staff, they thanked me and said that they would fix it straight away. 2 hours later I commented again to a member of staff that the toilet was still not flushing, the reply I got merits a place in a comedy sketch "That toilet has not flushed properly for the last 14 months" I also reported that the smell in the toilets was sickening, the reply "Yes it's the drains, they have smelt like that for years". This is an establishment that serves food. To acknowledge that the toilet hasn't flushed for months and the smell has been there for years has to throw doubt upon the health and safety of food preparation. I will not be eating there again.

    * Staff were friendly and adapted a meat dish to vegetarian for me, so I appreciated that. They looked after my uncles birthday cake until needed. * Only staff downside were, sometimes we had to go get them. * Cola was unfortunately not very fizzy and tasted like the old Panda Pops you get (80s reference). * Food on the whole was nice and the portion sizes were nice. I did feel that a few things were slightly over priced. * After talking to my family, we feel that 4/5 of us would return.
