Absolutely loved our recent visit to Rise and Grind Plymouth! The pistachio iced latte was delicious — smooth, creamy, and full of flavour. The views were absolutely stunning, making it the perfect spot to relax. Best of all, it was such a lovely and quiet location — a peaceful little gem on the Barbican. Can’t wait to come back!
Been meaning to share my review of this place for a while because it’s mine and my husbands favourite little coffee spot in Plymouth! When we first came there was this feta and humous sourdough dish which in all honesty is one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. We came back twice in one week it was that good! When we came back a few weeks they had replaced it with an Avocado version, I mentioned to the girl behind the counter it was a shame it’s no longer on the menu because it was so good, to which I’m assuming was the owner turned around from making coffee and said “I still have all the ingredients so I can make it for you if your like?”. And it was just as amazing as the other two. I was really taken back by how amazing the customer service was there. She could have ignored me but she went out of her way to make a customer happy and I really appreciated it. My husband also wasn’t keen on some of the ingredients in the toasties (because he is a plain eater) so we asked if they could do a simple ham and cheese, again they were more than happy to cater for that. The coffee and mocha’s are amazing. All in all, in our option the best little cafe in Plymouth, the location is also lovely, especially on a sunny day.
AMAZING!! Hosted my friend’s baby shower here and Sophie and Molly were both fantastic in the planning and the service on the day. The food was so good and they even put a twist on the food to match our theme. So accommodating and value for money was spot on. Can’t wait to come back and will recommend to anyone who asks. Thank you!
One star for atmosphere , and the other one for nice plates, glasses and cutlery. Unfortunately that’s all. They were toooo slow. The ice cream for kids was only on the bottom of the glass, melted. Tea they brought too early and buy the time my tray with sandwiches and cakes arrived my tea was already cold. And finally our friend ordered a coffee and we had to wait for that coffee more than 30 minutes. I’m not lying honestly. They said they are busy, but there were only 4-5 tables. Even in big coffee shops were customers are more than 10 the waiting time for your coffee can’t be more than 5minutes. I’m really sorry for my 2 stars, but if you are charging ahead you could have told us, that you don’t have ice cream instead of scraping what’s left in the bottom of the freezer. I really hope that you’ll improve your service. Tea and scones were nice. My husband said that banana bread was better last time he tried when it was quite there. My best wishes.
Such a lovely experience with work colleagues, nibbles and drinks. Friendly and welcoming ladies. Definitely one to recommend and will be returning. Thank you again
Went last Saturday service was slow I ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon scrambled eggs were microwaved and massive bone in salmon, my grandaughter ordered a pesto mozzarella and tomato bagel she could not eat it it was thick with pesto so not nice, on a positive point hot chocolate and leaf tea beautiful sorry x
great coffee, great service & great views. however i’ve knocked off 1 star because i feel as if providing as least one high chair would make families with small children more comfortable.
Go for a drink and the view, that’s the best I can say. The food menu is really limited, last time we went they didn’t have any eggs (at brunch time, considering this impacts quite a few items on a relatively short menu!) coffees and service and location are a plus, though.
Such a beautiful venue and amazing service, coffee, cocktails and brunch whilst looking over the boats in a relaxing environment what more could you want?!? The pink theme and flowers everywhere make it Instagramble and well worth a photo! Definitely recommend!
