My friends and I have taken to going to the king, after no longer going to the Gog and Magog, following 17 years of bad service and students forcing this change. But how nice it is to get a welcome drink and a clean table where you can talk to your friends, with no screaming or bad behaviour, well done The King's Head.

We were in when the gentleman above was asked not to sit on the stool. No shouting, spoken to very respectfully and quietly. This is a pub that we frequent because the staff are so good, happy and smiling.

I had a very unpleasant experience here. I was shouted at by a member of staff simply for sitting on a stool at the end of the bar, which I was later told was reserved for the landlady. There was nothing to indicate this, so I had no way of knowing. Instead of explaining politely, I was made to feel stupid and unwelcome. The way I was spoken to was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I would not expect to be treated like this in any establishment.

Always a decent pint served by friendly attentive staff. Crazy positive prices compared to other facilities around the Barbican. Comfortable dog friendly seating throughout the premises with plenty of tables. Great place to start or finish a run around the Barbican. Sport shown on tv a big bonus.

It was ok. Was rammed when we were there but that just means it's popular. Not my thing but then I'm nearly 50 lol. Perfect if you're in your 20's out looking to trap....but then there's probably a different word these days for that sort of thing.

As you enter the pub there is a sign that indicates that all children must be supervised by an adult. When my daughter arrived with my g/daughter she was asked to leave, this was early evening before 6, we were going onto a meal afterwards. We won't be going back there again. we were to be joined by 4 others so the pub missed out on a fair bit of money coming their way.
