I had my hair cut at Saks by the lovely Penny, who was absolutely wonderful and did a great job with my hair. However, I’m extremely disappointed with the pricing policy. I booked and paid online for a mid/long cut and finish (£54), fully aware that my hair is long and thick. My appointment started at 12:45 and was completed (including styling) by 14:20. When I went to pay, I explained that I had already paid online. Despite this, I was asked to pay an additional £40 because my hair supposedly took longer to do. I have had my hair cut at many other salons – even high-end ones – and have never been charged extra simply because my hair took a little longer. Whether it’s 20 minutes or more, the price quoted at booking has always been the price I’ve paid. In total, this cut and finish cost me £94, which is more expensive than some of the best salons in West Bridgford and Edwalton, even at director level, despite having long hair. I feel this was very deceptive and unfair, as the extra charge was never explained to me before my appointment. I will not be returning to this salon and will not be recommending it to others. The salon was not even particularly busy at the time, which makes the experience feel even more like I was unfairly targeted. Truly disappointing service.
Shevana was so nice! Really knew her stuff, waxed me so professionally and quickly and her technique made it pretty much pain-free! Would definitely recommend.
I was really nervous about cutting my curly hair because it's always hard to find the right place, but as soon as I spoke to Chay, I knew I was in good hands. She was so reassuring and explained everything in detail. My hair turned out amazing, and I’m absolutely in love with my curls now. The advice she gave me was also super helpful. I've been searching for a curly hair specialist for a long time, and I’m so glad I found this salon!
I contacted Saks to get booked in for a full head of highlights and was impressed with everything from the initial booking process, friendliness of the staff, hairdresser and overall atmosphere in the salon. Firstly, I was able to get a patch test and an appointment the same week. I explained the type of blonde shade I was after and the hairdresser was able to do her magic and I was so happy with the result! My hairdresser was really knowledgable about the ingredients within shampoos and offered advice about keeping my hair in good condition. It’s always scary moving to a new hairdresser but I am so happy that I did, I was that impressed I booked my eyebrows in for the following day! The team are so friendly and regularly check in with you offering tea/coffee/a chit chat. Being happy with the result I have rebooked for early January. If you are looking for a new hairdressers I would definitely recommend Saks- for hair and eyebrows.
I called Saks and I got lucky with a walk in appointment. I got even more lucky with Nick as my stylist! I have thick hair about waist length and Nick brought it to life!! He cut in and didn’t hold back whilst keeping as much length he could of! I’ve never had such full and bouncy hair! Definitely will be seeing Nick again soon!
Hannah is a fantastic hairdresser. She really understands what you are looking to achieve. My hair can be troublesome as I have a flash of grey that is very unruly, but she manages to weave through high and lowlights to disguise it giving me the perfect expensive blonde look. I also usually have a new set of hair extensions every 6 months, but I could go longer as the beauty works hair she uses is really good quality. I’m growing out my hair and so each time I am slowly reducing the number of grams I need. The nano bonds are great for growing out and repositioning, without any damage to your natural hair. Much better than fusion bonds. Would highly recommend Hannah if you are looking for a Colour , cut or even extensions.
