   I had a bit of a moment when I walked in. I used to work in a similar store in Radford when I was a young boy. Google recommended this place as I needed a stud finder and some dry wall anchors, instead of going to B&Q or Screwfix I came here and glad I did. Clearly a pillar of the community super friendly staff amazing array of products communities need places like this. Like the valve shop in Basford the staff are excellent and knowledgable too - I was ear wigging to some advice they were giving and wow! I hope they never go away and I’ll be going back to pretty much buy the whole shop. Amazing

   When I waked in my opening line was " Hi, I have a random request, do you happen to have a diaphragm for a toilet siphon?" Previous to visiting Carlton Hardware Ltd I had been to B&Q, toolstation and screwfix and no one could help with what I was looking for so I didn't hold out any hope as you can imagine. The gentleman smiled and asked me the type I needed. He knew exactly what I was talking about, out he popped into a magical back room and return with a diaphragm! He totally saved the day for me, also got a lovely sturdy gate lock. Very reasonable prices and great customer service! Thank you again so much!

   Went looking for aome additional curtain hooks for my son a house, asked chap on the till if he stocked them as seemed an odd size having looked elsewhere. Without question he said yes and took me to them couldn't have been more helpful. Great shop will use again thanks.

   I've just visited the hardware store on cartlon Hill, the customer service I received was absolutely appalling, I purchased 5 g9 bulbs when I got home only 1 of which worked, so as you do i went back to return them. At the front desk the older man with a beard rudely told me not to ever come back to his shop as he has sold thousands and never had a issue with them I then went on to explain to him that I tested the one which was working with the other lights and they it worked fine so I'm assuming it is the bulb not the electric fault. The man very rudely said just give her money back and telling me never to come to his shop and making out I was either lying or retuning the old bulbs. It was not about the money it was the principal if the matter if I had been in this situation with B&Q I'm sure it would of been resolved very differently. Nevertheless to say I left the bulbs with him and did not take the refund money as i was disgusted with his behavior that is not what you call customer service!!!!
