After a long fought campaign to get this branch to take their fire safety responsibilities seriously - which eventually took the local Fire and Rescue Service getting involved to sort things - this Morrisons managed to keep the fire exits(mostly) clear... Until today. Today they had decided to have a table and chair obstructing a fire exit. The store interior is generally okay. Stock levels have been fluctuating wildly over the past few months. I have been disappointed to see that Morrisons the company were happy to invest a huge amount of money into a video stock tracking system (it will be interesting to see if that forms the basis of a future variable pricing system), but didn't want to put money into replacing light bulbs. The evenings are getting darker earlier again, and yet the exterior lighting by the rear emergency exit still appears to be broken (to my knowledge, that's about two years now!) Today the self service till I went to had a fault (card only till that could not accept cards). These things happen, but what happened following that should never have happened. The staff member came over and dismissed the error message without reading it! After going through the same routine of clearing the error message without reading it and pressing the pay by card button, I had to tell her that the card payment system clearly had a fault. She then started trying to get me to put my card into the reader, trying to get me to race the error message. Clearly, Morrisons need to give their staff training in common sense. Twice I had to refuse to take part in this nonsense, telling her that there is no way I am putting my card into a faulty machine. Not impressed by a staff member trying to pressure me into doing something really dumb. And if course, outside passing the washing machines, yet again staff members had decided they were going to take their cigarette break there. I guess they felt walking to the designated smoking area at the other end of the wall was too much effort. The staff still park in the disabled bays without blue badges. So the store is better because of an outside official getting involved, but the manager and the staff clearly are still massively lacking, and have a severe problem with contempt for their customers.

The store has not had any money spent on it since it was Safeway. At least one fridge leaking on every visit was large puddles of water on the floor and this has been going on for months and cannot be blamed on the hot Weather. However most of the staff are friendly 10 months on and still the chillers leak on a regular basis. 13 leaking today. Two chillers you where directed to find a member of staff to hand you food out of it. Keep emailing head office about this but still this problem persists. Staff to frightened to complain as they fear the store is at treat of closure. Could be why no money is being spent on it I have been told a month ago that major works are expected at the store but no signs of this starting I have noted that morrisons have responded only to the positive reviews and not offered and explanation to the negative reviews or any apologies. It is the same when going into the store where the store manager could be displaying notices apologising the puddles we have to walk through. Be aware new company policy is for the staff to scan quicker although research has shown people who use these tills like the social interaction. Scanning quickly causes mistakes which is OK if staff are vigilant. More disgruntled staff at the till and the staff are the only positive remaining. I await a response to this review from the store manager

This is one of the worst supermarkets I have ever been too. There is constantly a layer of water on the floor because they won't fix their chiller units, which subsequently are half empty. If you go early or late the shelves are empty. Trolleys are not cleaned properly and some have rotting food and rubbish in. Staff openly criticise management. We have changed to Tesco. My advice to the store manager? Resign!!

Used to be a decent shop but these days most of the fridges are empty/leaking/sealed off. Staff try their best but can’t help a dying store. Only visit in emergencies now and instead use local Coop or travel further for Sainsbury’s.

Good service, nice clean store, experiencing some shortage just as other supermarkets but overall very good.

It's a small store and it can get very busy. It has a small clothes section. The bakery is always good and full of products. Fresh cakes and cheesecakes are very good. It has some self service tills. Parking is plentiful. Cafe is great for hot drinks a bad meals/ snacks. Food is always hot and good value.

Security guard decided to start an argument with me today for walking through the exit door, to get something I had just forgotten quickly. At approximately 4.30pm. Quite an aggressive and incompetent guard, with a pathetic attempt at intimidating me. Other than that it is a good supermarket.

Not been in the cafe for ages. Chose the breakfast special and wasn't disappointed at all. Really nice cup of tea served in a pot. Breakfast was brought to our table within a couple of minutes. Mt friend opted for toasted tea cake and coffee. Staff were very nice and friendly, with good service.
