   Typical Aldi. They must have supply issues. None of the normal salted butter, miserable choice of sliced cooked meats, jacket potatoes down to the last few that nobody wants! Been like this for about a week now. Unusual though.

   Have swapped from using Ilkeston Aldi to using Aldi in Heanor after having multiple negative experiences at Ilkeston Aldi. Heanor’s aldi is spacious and always well-stocked, the staff are so friendly (very different to my experience at Ilkeston). Additionally, it’s usually pretty quiet at the times we shop, and aisles aren’t often blocked by staff stocking the shelves. I’d definitely recommend this store to anyone. Also handy that it is part of a retail park so can nip to other shops if needed when nearby.

   Loads of free parking, well stocked shop for all fresh, freezer & larder food. Cleaning items. Interesting buys on central areas. Plants outside not great. Fresh flowers poor on this occasion. But I don't shop here for those items. Just sad to see dead and wasted plants outside...not a good look or example of the quality of items inside.

   It has been about five years since I was last in the Heanor Aldi, and the review was not good. Frozen products left ok pallets in an aisle for over 40 minutes, and mouldy food. So I was pleasantly surprised this time. This branch has had a refit, and the new in-store branding, shelving, chillers, and freezers look great. I'm a fan of self service checkout (being autistic, I appreciate not having to interact with a member of staff at checkout, if I don't feel like it on a given day), so I appreciate the new self service area. As it was the last time I was in, the floors and shelves were tidy and clean. I was happy to see the staff throughout the store working and assisting customers. When I was frequenting the store five years back, they had a big issue with staff regularly standing in large groups in the aisles, just gossiping about the company, customers, and other staff members. I do wonder if there has been a management change, because that is usually what is needed to have such a fundamental change in staff behaviour. All in all, this was a very positive visit. The stock range remains impressive, the prices are still very keen, and the experience has obviously improved. I'll make a point of visiting semi regularly, and I hope this branch continues to impress.

   The quality of their fruit and vegetables is excellent as is the meat. Their sausages stay the same size after cooking and do not shrink or end up swimming in water. Very impressed with Aldi.

   What's not to like about this supermarket? Fresh produce is always excellent, good range of frozen and fresh food, and now confirmed as UK's cheapest supermarket! With Tesco on one side of the road and Food Warehouse next door, competition is good!
