The food was excellent. We had breakfast and could not have wished for tastier food. We were the only people in the restaurant, but it did mean we were served very quickly! A lovely venue in a lovely location.

A truly great find, a new town for us and so, a new venue. We didn't know what to expect but the food was tasty and well prepared and presented. Always a relief. The guy looking after us, Omer, was super polite and very attentive. The wine was good and the overall experience is one we intend to repeat. Thank you guys, an interesting place in a lovely town. Forgot to say, the town is spelt Brewood but pronounced as 'Brewed' in the Domesday book it was spelt 'Breude' meaning a hill with a wood nearby. No doubt the spelling was spoiled by the Anglo-Saxons

First time visiting SG. Plenty of choice on the menu. Attentive, friendly staff. Restaurant was full with a good atmosphere. Food was superb. Tasty and good portion sizes.

We arrived at 8:30pm for our table reservation – four of us out for a catch-up and a treat. We were seated promptly, but things quickly took a turn. Almost immediately, we were asked to place our order. We politely asked for a few more minutes, only to be told, “I’ll have to hurry you along because the chef is waiting on you.” We were taken aback, especially when we were told the kitchen had actually closed at 8:30pm – the exact time of our reservation. This was confusing, given that table bookings were available as late as 9pm. When the waiter returned, his tone had noticeably shifted – much more overly friendly, likely because he overheard our concerns and confusion. We placed our order, and the food arrived surprisingly fast. Three of us ordered the satay chicken salad, a dish we’ve enjoyed before and were looking forward to. Our fourth friend chose a vegetarian option. Unfortunately, this time the chicken was undercooked. Mine in particular was noticeably pink inside, which completely put me off eating it. My friends checked theirs and noted some pink too, although not as much. I left the chicken and tried to eat the salad but even this didn’t taste great and I was just completely put off. The so-called satay sauce tasted nothing like satay – more oily than anything else. What made the experience worse was the lack of attentiveness. No one came over to ask how our meals were. We got the clear impression we were being avoided – we were the only ones in the restaurant, and still one of my friends sat with an empty glass, never asked if she wanted another drink. Eventually, someone did come over and we expressed our dissatisfaction, showing them the pink chicken. The manager came to speak to us and offered free drinks and said the chef had offered to remake our meals. At that point, we declined – we’d already felt rushed from the start and if the kitchen was supposedly closed, it didn’t make sense that they’d be happy to cook again an hour later. I made it clear I wasn’t paying for my meal – and my friends agreed. To be fair, the manager accepted this, didn’t charge us for food or drink, and did apologise. Overall, the experience was disappointing and uncomfortable. What should have been a relaxing, enjoyable evening with friends turned into something stressful and poorly handled. We won’t be returning.

The falafel is the best I've had recently. Its texture is just right, not too dry not too moist. The earthy flavour of beetroot compliments perfectly with the citrus and chilli combination of the mango salad. Should go down perfectly with a nice white wine. The brisket beef came with gorgeous mash and gravy. The beef was a touch too dry. Overall a superb meal and highly recommended.

We dropped into the Lion's Staffordshire Grill on Christmas Lights Night to order a couple of coffees. Despite our order being tiny, we were made wonderfully welcome by the young staff, who were unfailingly polite and friendly, and even offered to take a photo of us by the cosy fire. We'll be back to sample the food soon, and we look forward to sitting in the patio garden on a warmer night.

Best roast dinner I've had in ages. We were really lucky and got a table without a booking. The service was exceptional and the quality of the food was top notch. It would have been a 5star but the place is not well signposted from the road, nor is the carpark. That being said, once you find it you won't be disappointed.

Finding the place can be difficult as the side of the building says The Lion inn. Clear signs need to be given. Waiting staff Chris and the team are fantastic very a-tentative. Food was delicious. However dessert was abit of a wait as they were quite busy. Lovely decor. Finished to a high standard.
