   We engaged a handful of well-established kitchen companies for our kitchen project and Steve and Marina from Collyer & Co were patient, passionate, imaginative and very talented. Although we were concerned about the potential costs of bespoke cabinetry, we were very pleasantly surprised that the comparison between standard products was not too great. It ended up as an easy decision. The kitchen and utility room is a large area (35 Sq Meters) and rather than take a simple approach to the space, they proposed multiple designs in collaboration with us, until we settled upon the final design. We ended up making 4 structural changes to the space and the finished result is truly exceptional. Steve acted as Project Manager for us, so the builder, plasterer, electricians, plumber, tiler and worktop supplier were all scheduled and engaged by him. All were absolutely first-class and they treated our home with the highest level of care, consideration and cleanliness. Once Phil began the installation the extremely high quality of everything became apparent. Dovetail joints, beautiful cutlery trays, a bespoke knife-block, gorgeous larder unit and every joint and shut line perfect. Even the magnetic catches are exceptional. The attention to detail is staggering and elements that we would never have even noticed have been delivered by a team that really wants to install a perfect product. For example, the solution to build in the washing machine and tumble drier, but retain access to the machines for any maintenance is so elegant and effective it could win an award! Our painter was fully booked until December, so the rooms will not be completely finished until then, but we are pleased to say that our kitchen project has comfortably surpassed even our very high expectations.

   We contracted Collyer & Co for our utility room and we couldn’t be happier. I can’t fault a thing. We have used other companies in the past for bespoke cabinetry and the quality from Collyer & Co really is superior. Communication was excellent, we were consulted all the way. Steve did several site visits to measure up and make sure our design would work and made suggestions that helped the room work better. Phil did a brilliant job fitting and accommodating quite a few awkward corners! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would have them back for future work.

   Like a lot of period homeowners, I had spent a lot of lockdown plotting the next phase of my renovation. I had in mind the usual Pimlico set to build the kitchen, but a local interior designer told me about Steve’s business. After a hugely successful career in financial services, Steve sold his business empire to explore his real passion of cabinet making. It’s often the case that when people build a business for the love of it, it becomes an amazing thing. To say that I am pleased with the kitchen that Collyer & Co have designed and built for me is an understatement. I don’t think I’ve ever met a group of people so very good at what they do, as his team. I don’t think I need to say anything else.

   Having had a kitchen made and installed by the previous management team of what is now Collyer & Co, we decided to go back to the business for additions and refurbishment. We had excellent service and workmanship on the 1st occasion and that was matched if not exceeded on this occasion. The design help and support that we got with installation of new cupboards and display sections, as well as repainting and refurbishing existing cabinets, was as good as one could possibly hope for. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently by expert artisans who tidied up as they worked. Should we need any similar work in the future be it in the kitchen, or any other room in the house, we would certainly be happy to go back to Collyer & Co and can recommend them, unconditionally.
