It is coming up to a year since my mum was treated on Forest ward for 12 weeks and assessed due to dementia and I am still in shock from our experience. I have complained and progressed through PALS but still so upset by her treatment. Despite being on what was supposed to be a locked ward she was able to leave the hospital three times and left at risk of injury the last time she was found by police in January in bed clothes and hospital had not realised she was missing despite one to one care. The health care assistance tried hard but management and regime of care was unacceptable. I have tried to block this out of my memory but one year on I am struggling.

A pleasure to visit a patient yesterday: calm, clean and tidy place with easy-access free parking. However, the website [October 2025] still displays COVID-lockdown precautions and is currently off-putting and misleading.

My brother was discharged from Lings Bar on Monday 28th August to a nursing home. Hours later , at 3am in morning, the nursing home range for an ambulance as my brother was very poorly. He ended up with sepsis and was in an induced coma for three days. The cause was a UTI. Lings Bar must have sent him to the nursing home with this infection.

My Partner was in for almost 3 weeks in John Proctor ward, the food was excellent but, the staff were awful, he had a fall in there and did not even enter it on the discharge report (which really had no information on it) lucky enough doctor came to see him so I have proof that he did, he also received a bed sore in the short time he was in there yet he spent 15 weeks in queens and got nothing. Alot of staff were also ignorant. I must say though the Physio was great.

After my nephew who is disabled and has severe learning difficulties was admitted to lings bar it was a worrying time for the family . There was absolutely no need what an amazing place each and every staff member went out of there way to make sure Jordan who was admitted with severe dermatology issues was looked after like he was family of their own . We can’t thank you all enough and I know Jordan is going to miss you all. Me personally would like to say a massive thank you to Donna and Claire they went above and beyond and to see you both cuddle him and be like mothers to him your absolutely amazing angels in disguise. Thank you a million times over all of you such an amazing team x

All the staff have been fantastic in getting May back on her feet, nothing has been too much for the trouble for the staff. When visiting May we have seen the daily challenges they face and they deal with things brilliantly. May has actually enjoyed her time here and I think she is really going to miss the staff here.

My mum has been in Lings bar hospital. Couldn't thank them enough, her care was very good on the Forest ward. The nurses and staff very friendly and helpful. Had good meals while there and plenty of interaction with the physio to get her walking again after a fall.
