The hall cafe is run by different groups each week. Our team of volunteers fundraised by selling home made cakes, fresh sandwhiches, hot drinks all at low prices. Very helpful hall manager Gabriel. We also sold bric-a-brac and plants. It's a relaxed freindly venue, lots of clubs and classes use the hall eg Eldertree dance group.
Went to a keep fit class there three months after my hip replacement. The first class was free. The next class will cost me £3. The instructor was very charismatic. I did find out I have no coordination, but it doesn't matter it was fun. I will be going back next week at 10 am. P.s I didn't have to book the class just turned up on a Monday.
It is a great place for a kid's birthday party. Room was spacious, staff was very helpful and worth your money. Book in advance, better to contact via email first.
I run a weekly weight watchers group here on Wednesday 1230, it's a lovely large hall with a great community feel and a super caretaker Sheldon.
Busy popular swimming pool,gym, community activity centre & library - including tennis club & courts also very popular competitive bowling club with well maintained green. Community centre holds many well attended events throughout the year including flower shows & fetes showcasing local crafts.
It is neither historic nor a tourist attraction. The house shown in the photo was destroyed by fire 30 years ago , and is replaced with a one story modern building. There is a library there and a public swimming pool and a nice green for cricket and dog walking.
