We booked our company Christmas meal at the S&L and were ultimately very disappointed. It was a Saturday night so the venue was busy but we had hoped for a decent service and nice atmosphere. Instead, we had to leave our table and queue for 20 odd minutes every time we wanted a drink. There was 12 of us squeezed onto a table that was suitable for 8 and despite us having this private area, other customers and staff were constantly walking through. We sat down at 7pm for the meal and waited... after nearly 1 hour we began to be served. To be fair, the food was ok but the service was so erratic that some had finished their meals before others had even been served. The staff provided a couple of bottles of Prosecco and £100 discount off the final bill as a goodwill gesture which was appreciated but we would have preferred an enjoyable night instead as it was a once-a-year occasion. The other problem is the building itself has no sound deadening so the shouting and screaming from the bar area just gets annoying after a while - more soft furnishings would probably help. This place is fine on quieter days and great for a brunch but would definitely not recommend for a Christmas meal.

Be very careful using their card machines, 3 pints and 2 different prices......found the staff adding tips on the front of the card reader before presenting it to pay. Absolutely astounded so I didn't speak up at the time....it was less than a quid.....but imagine how many other people they are doing it to..... topping up there Christmas pot taking advantage of people.

Me and my friends did a bottomless brunch here. Despite us being a bit late our waitress Billie was very helpful in making sure we made the most out of our time. Billie was very helpful by telling us about the drinks and making sure my friend with a milk allergy could have the meal she wanted. Amazing customer service and the bottomless brunch was a brilliant deal.

Booked a brunch and bubbles for a birthday, was greeted upon arrival, had out own booth table and had table service for 2 hours. A small choice of drinks. Could upgrade if whole party upgraded for £10. Food was delightful Couldn't praise the staff enough. Will be back.

I had the S&L burger which comes with chips, very tasty and filling. Alcohol beverages are quite pricey, so I went for a cider. I'll recommend their mocktails. They have a variety of nice mixtures and you could get 2 for the price of one depending on the time. You want to go on a date or a friend just came into town? You should go there.
