Impossible to see a doctor. Have been trying constantly for months. Despite ringing constantly from 8.30 - when finally get through triage calls are full and closed for today - try again tomorrow???? Sometimes it's only been 8.45 ??? Absolutely atrocious- heart goes out to the elderly and vulnerable. If I could rate it as a minus I would. This health centre has really gone downhill

Avoid at all costs. Sadly find the receptions rude when answering questions and their attitude / tone towards people leaves a lot to be desired. Near impossible to get an appointment unless you ring up first thing and get lucky from my experience. Practice falls well short of the basic ability to actually function. Doctors and nurses are fine and had zero issue with them when I am able to get an appointment, it's the actual running of the place and first contact with patients that is at best severly, or at worst non-existent.

Tried twice to order prescription for my elderly mother. Used their online app but as they hadn't added the items to the other regulars, despite them being ordered for past year, they were overlooked. I phoned and called in and was told to phone again this morning. They said phone @ 11am but thankfully I phoned at 10am. Took 45 minutes to get through even though I was caller 13. I was told prescription was ready but they weren't sure if it was in the surgery or at the chemist. Then said they were closing half day for Easter break. Had to order a taxi to get there in time, surgery didn't have it said it was sent to chemist the previous afternoon. Went to chemist. Sorted! Surely this service can be improved on? Follow on review. I neded a call back to get an appointment and bloods. This was sorted same day and Dr Gilroy had arranged to see me after bloods taken. She was very pleasant, good listener and sorted out exactly what was needed and followed up with a phone call the following week with results. So good to be able to report positive feedback.

I have been a member of this surgery my whole life, and I have never found it so difficult to get an appointment. You need to be on the phone from first thing in the morning, and if you're not cut off a number of times you're told that they are at capacity and to call back. There is no facility to book at appointment in advance, and you can't get one without first speaking to a GP on the phone which is almost impossible. When you do get an appointment, the GPs and staff are great.

This was my first experience of Tramways and you know what hey say, 'first impressions' last'! My Mum's doctor is at Tramways, and due to her health issues I wanted to arrange to bring her to the centre and see her doctor. Wrote her doctor a letter and received a reply from the reception to telephone. Called and the looped message said your call is very important to us...you are number 15 in the queue. 44 minutes later I got through. The girl said hello, I said hello back and started explaining things. The girls said hello again, and I said can you hear me. The girl hung up. So I tried again, and when I got talking to someone was told there were no more appointments available that day, and I could call back tomorrow or call in during the morning. (Sadly I've a thing called a job which doesn't help doing that) So I called again the next morning and it took about 15 minute before I got onto the recorded message after just the engaged tone. And the message said. you are number 25 in the queue! So I'm looking at being on hold for potentially over an hour, and I'm at work. This place seems to have a serious management problem, and I can't comment on their doctors as I've yet to meet one. But I know my own surgery is 1000 times better than this, and my mum's old surgery that she sadly left was also 1000 times better than this. Judging from the other reviews, it seems I'm not alone in having a negative experience

Honestly upsetting to have to deal with this practice when sick. Virtually impossible to get any sort of appointment. If you are prepared to wait on the phone for 45mins + , the reception staff are completely disinterested in anything you have to say and only want rid of you. If you are looking for a GP practice, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

If there is any management from the practice who actually read these reviews - please manage your reception staff! You should not be able to treat people the way they treat people who are already anxious or stressed having to call and seek medical treatment! They need some lessons in empathy and emotional intelligence!

Avoid this place if you can. Told lines are open from 8:30 but when you call lines are dead. It's about 8:50 before you get the call through into a que. You'll wait 20-60mins on the phone only to be hung up on. Told you will need to call back as slots are taken. Receptionist are horrible people that seem to think they are qualified Doctors. Place is a joke. I feel bad for anyone the genuinely needs something checked out that could be life threatening as you have more chance winning the lottery that getting through to a Doctor at this place.

Closed randomly. You're told to call only in the mornings, from 8:30am, and you have about 45 minutes before the day's appointments FOR A CALL with a doctor are filled -- so essentially THOSE are the real calls to get an appointment, and there's a 30 minute slot just to talk to a receptionlist to see if you can talk to the doctor to see if you can get an appointment. So you wait, maybe -- their call queue only handles 25 people, so any more than that, and you're immediately cut off and have to ring back, so you have to constantly to call, get disconnected, call again, just to get onto their call queue! If you do finally get onto the queue and get through, it's pot luck whether you get a helpful receptionist (Jane, the English one) or a nasty one. Half the time, you'll be told that no doctors are available (maybe because they all got covid through careless setup of their vaccination days) or you'll be told that they're closed that day, or that you have to call back in the afternoon or next day instead. They used to have online booking (through patientaccess.com) but did it half-heartedly, with a few appointment slots weeks out (so it was pretty useless to patients, but probably easy for staff to not have to check online bookings vs. phone bookings, letting them stick to their regular, old-fashioned approach). So I guess that failed because they treated it as an afterthought, and they've stopped doing it altogether now. What they NEEDED to do was use that PROPERLY, increasing it so that it was more useful and popular, to take the load off receptionists and doctors. Pretty much all of the doctors themselves are good...if you ever get to see or talk to one.
