Shocking…. Avoid……. You’ll not get through to reception anyway so don’t bother….. tried for days on end, nothing EVER changes, the dogs on the street in Lisburn are aware how terrible the experience is for too many people. Sad and disappointing
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Linen Hall Medical Practice. Unfortunately, their unprofessional conduct and lack of empathy have compelled me to share my concerns. My wife was suffering from a fever of 40 degrees, and despite the urgency of the situation, the receptionist refused to provide an appointment. The lack of basic competence and professionalism displayed was shocking. My frustration was further compounded when the receptionist contacted the police over trivial matters, leading to an unnecessary escalation. This caused significant distress not only to me but to my family as well. Even more alarming was the police involvement based on distorted statements. Despite my clear communication and intention to secure an appointment for my wife in person due to the pressing medical need, my words were maliciously twisted. The police eventually confirmed that no offense was committed, underscoring the unnecessary nature of their involvement. Furthermore, the receptionist's failure to adhere to the duty of care is inexcusable. My intentions were solely to ensure my wife's health, and I expected a medical practice to support this objective. Instead, I faced unnecessary obstacles and unprofessional behavior. In light of these experiences, I am relieved to no longer be a patient at Linen Hall Medical Practice. I hope to find a healthcare team that exhibits the compassion, empathy, and professionalism that patients rightfully deserve. I urge the practice to reconsider their approach and ensure their staff are adequately trained and capable of providing the care and respect patients need.
I wrote this review 4 years ago and am sad to say unfortunately that the situation has reversed. Hillsborough Medical centre has now become a shambles, whereas Dr Ruddell's practice has improved immensely and the care of my mother in her last years was very good. Dr Ruddell himself and Dr McKee have been very attentive and helpful and available when needed with a patient, concerned and personal touch. Hillsborough on the other hand has gone in the opposite direction-impossible to get an appointment and made serious errors with my elderly mum and I find have very little concern for my own health. They need to address this Previous review before editing Was a patient here from birth and always had great doctors. Now it is terrible. Was with Dr Ruddell's practice and changed to Hillsborough which is fantastic. My elderly mother is scared to change despite the doctors having made several errors where she ended up in hospital unnecessarily and in critical condition (changing tablets, stopping tablets incorrectly, sending out medication without instruction) They are careless and want to get you out of the surgery as quickly as they possibly can. Receptionists just as bad-stern and unhelpful. Hillsborough much more friendly, compassionate and caring and take their time with you
Absolutely impossible to get an appointment, been trying on and off since February 2022 to phone for an appointment but have never been able to get through. If I could give zero stars I would, not fit for purpose.
Disgrace. You can not get appointment for love or money. Any wonder emergency in hospitals overloaded. Reception asks what Is it for. Not their business obviously you want appointment. Oh none available it's phone service only in a week. Could be dead by then. Sort it out not good enough for people
Never had a problem with Lisburn health centre. Always under pressure, but still do a good job. I had an appointment with Dr Mckee today, this man is so professional, and sorted me out with my breathing problems.
This Doctors surgery is honestly the worst! Tried phoning them while standing in the reception and they still all sat there laughing and ignoring the phones. I have tried many times to get a few simple medications and they just sign me up for therapy like this is unreal treatment. Should’ve closed down years ago!
Receptionists are completely incompetent. When asked which practise we wished to register with we specifically requested whoever provided online appointment and prescription managing services (several in the building do). Receptionist proceeded to register us with one of the only practises who don't, whose website is a poorly formatted shambles of broken links.
Only recently started going here. Awful experience already. First time going 2 weeks ago and witnessed multiple doctors (at least 10) going into the same tiny doctors room together to have their lunch while there was a full waiting area full on patients. Completely unacceptable while covid is still a very big problem. I then felt very unsafe going to see the doctor with my newborn son after witnessing this. The doctor was also quite rude and very unsympathetic and unprofessional while giving my son his first injections. She had no time for him or me and just looked as though she wanted to get them done and get rid of us, even though my son was screaming and crying. No empathy at all. I also have just had a receptionist speak to me in the most rude manor. Not at all the way anyone should be spoken to. Completely disrespectful atmosphere throughout the surgery. Overall complete disappointment with this GP surgery (Dr Ruddell).
Probably the worst surgery I’ve ever experienced. New mother and told each time I try to make an appointment that there is ‘none’ within 6 weeks and I’ll have to try and phone again a week later, only to do so and be told the same thing. Emergency appointments are not offered even in cases of emergency. Receptionists rude and unhelpful, despite the nurses and doctors being lovely when you actually manage to catch a glimpse of them (even though it’s easier to get an appointment with the queen) Signs on walls stating how many people fail to show up to appointments which is hardly surprising if they’re made 8 weeks in advance.
