My Rolex had water damage and I brought it here to have it repaired. They told me they sent it back to Rolex and it would cost me £4,167 to repair my watch, including a new face, and a new movement. For reference, that’s about the value of the watch on the second hand market. I assume they heard my American accent and thought they had a good target. What they should have thought is that, given I have an American accent, maybe I’d check elsewhere for the same work. As it turns out, what they told me was nonsense. I got the work done for less than half the price at another authorised Rolex dealer, who cleaned the face and the movement (rather than charging me for new ones) and gave me a 10-year warranty against leakage.
