Did my Powerboat Level 2 course — great experience! Martin (the instructor) was excellent, clear, patient, and really knew his stuff. Learned a lot and feel way more confident on the water now. Highly recommend!

I did the SRC (VHF) exam with Martin at Royal William Yard in Plymouth. He is extremely knowledgeable, puts you at ease and makes learning fun. From signing up, registration with RYA online and the rest of the exam admin, Martin was super responsive on email. Highly recommend.

Martin was a very professional and friendly instructor. He explained everything at my pace and I had time to ask plenty of questions and feel confident before I took the exam. I hadn’t taken an exam in a long time and was nervous. I needn’t have been as I had been taught and prepared well. It was such a positive experience I have now decided to enrol for an RYA power level 2 course with Martin.

Outstanding. RYA Powerboat level 2. Martin is very calm patient and knowledgeable and a comfortable person to be around. The setting being based at Royal William Yard Plymouth doesn't get any better....I now feel equipped to build on my training......Thanks Martin.

What a RIB ride! I booked a private two-person, two-hour tour of Plymouth Sound and the River Tamar for my husband's 40th and it was money well spent! I spent the first half giggling as Martin raced on the open water and we were bouncing up and down on the waves at high speed! So much fun! We felt totally safe and was very looked after. There were slow cruises past beautiful locations and Martin had an interesting story or fact about most places! It was exhilarating and relaxing at the same time! Martin is such a genuine down-to-earth guy; emailing and arranging a RIB ride was easy and carefree! He answered every question I had (and I had a lot!) with happy enthusiasm! I'd happily recommend a RIB tour with Martin to anyone and everyone! I even said to my hubby "We should do this every year!"

What a brilliant course! Firstly, Mart was very accommodating with regards to finding a date and time that suited us to do the course, despite Storm Eunice’s best efforts to stop this from happening! Mart is evidently not only a very knowledgeable and experienced boat handler, but also a great teacher. The classroom, theory based stuff was taught in a fun, engaging and easy to digest manner, accompanied by chocolate. Out on The Sound, we had a great time learning how to handle the boat. From turning at speed, to slowly pull up alongside ‘Bob’, who is very careless and frequently managed to find himself over board…. I highly recommend booking to do the powerboat level 2 course with Mart. You’ll not only learn a lot and gain a useful qualification, but have a great time doing it.
