Fantastic business. Really friendly, experienced and helpful staff that know their stuff. Food is locally sourced with a dedication to provenance and quality. A huge selection of flavoured sausages - try the Jonny Cash !! 100% recommend these guys.
We used Johnny, The Snobby Butcher, for our engagement party with over 70 guests and were thoroughly impressed. He and his team provided a professional, seamless service with a customised pork free menu including lamb, chicken and beef burgers, chicken sausages, lamb koftas and beef bacon. The meat was exceptional and cooked to perfection. Johnny’s passion and his team’s dedication made the event effortless for us and our guests could not stop praising the food. We would highly recommend them and look forward to using their services again.
Fantastic butchers. Properly aged meat. The sausages are simply the best. The pork pie is the best I have tasted. Oh, and I almost forgot the amazing home cured bacon. If you are making breakfast then you owe it to yourself to get the real deal from here, sausage and bacon does not get any better.
Great place. Went to a sausage and burger making night. Great fun, thoroughly enjoyed it. Under the expert guidance of Johnny we added our own flavours to what we were making. We were fed some of the lovely produce that the shop stocks and then got to take home the sausages and burgers that we’d made.
Had the best time ever, learning how to make sausages and burgers. Johnny makes everything fun, his knowledge can’t be beaten. Plus we got to take home everything that we made - result! Definitely an experience I’d recommend.
This guy thinks it's ok to park his van completely blocking the pavement when there's a whole side road to park on.
I’ve been using this butchers for years now and there’s always amazing beef and pork from Jonny…And sausages too. I go out of my way especially to come to this butcher shop as it’s great quality and i can say from visiting the farm Jonny rears his pigs on, it has absolutely amazing standards and certainly high welfare. Would highly recommend .
Last time I went for minced pork, he clearly used it to get rid of older stock - without checking with me first, he minced at least one flavour of marinated pork, and I think two flavours due to colour variation. The fat content was also unreasonably high. I did not discover this until I got home. I have allergies, and I didn't get to check what ingredients were snuck in to my pork. I think this shows a very poor attitude to customers, and I didn't go to a proper butcher to get fobbed off with his least-fresh meat for full price. The dismissive attitude is actually pretty representative of what I have had from here before. I'm also not convinced that I'm buying high-welfare pork that isn't just purchased from a standard slaughterhouse. Often they have no stock of basic items so I've wasted a trip more than once - in combination with experiences above, it is enough to put me off going back. I'll be sticking to ordering online from reliably high welfare sources, and resort to co-op if I need to buy from a convenient last minute source.
