Bought a bottle of chardonnay. It was on the bottom shelf and along side wines priced at around £5. When I went to checkout it was priced £12.47. I like the store but if buying wine. Check the price and don't get stung.

Aaran the security guard is just amazing. We need a specific hoodie for our son to wear to school the next day for world mental health day and we called the store at 9pm since we live 1.5 hours away and explained the situation to him. He went out of his way to check with his collegues and found the last one in stock for us aside which we then collected. He’s a true asset to Asda.

One of our favourite wines was £1 higher at the checkout than the displayed price on three separate occasions, despite formally complaining. It would appear that staff at the checkouts don't care enough to change the system details. Other item have also been higher at checkout, some by upto 50%. The disparity is always in Asda's favour. Draw your own conclusions.

Me and my partner went for a quick English breakfast and cuppa before our train this afternoon; an older woman was ahead of us in the queue, we were all waiting a good 5 minutes for the woman at the counter to finish her conversation with a coworker (who was literally standing next to us) and serve us - the older woman actually had to ask her to serve us. The coffee machines that were in service were a bit grubby despite seeing staff maintaining them whilst we were there. The food came out speedy (within 5 minutes), however you can tell it’d been sat under a heat lamp for too long as most of the meat was dry. My partner asked for no beans or tomato as they have a mild allergy, however both plates came with, so they had to eat around the pile of beans and left still quite hangry. Overall, service and quality wasn’t great. We don’t expect a lot as it is a grocery store kitchen, however we were both a little disappointed with the overall standard.

This store is a sad reflection on what it used to be before it was taken over. Yes it is a good large shop with a great range of amenities within including an online click and collect unit, a pharmacy, a bureau de change, a postbox, a cafe and all relevant fresh counters but what it lacks is any form of value. Everything is 10, 20, 30p or more expensive than other supermarkets. It may not sound much but it certainly all adds up. Even the petrol at the onsite petrol station was around 7p per litre more expensive than the average around the area and they don't even have staff or a little shop to cover the cost of as all pumps are pay at pump only. A huge disappointment to me were the toilets. They were among the worst public toilets I have been to in a very long time. The toilet seats were broken, the cubicle locks were broken, they were filthy and even for someone like me who doesn't have a great sense of smell they stank. The one saving grace for this store was the staff. They were brilliant. Very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Although there didn't seem to be too many around the second I needed help there were there. If it wasn't for them the rating would certainly be lower.

Now, I must admit I’m not an ASDA fan (never have liked their store ambience) and prefer Sainsbury’s but we’ve not got one (unless you go to Sleaford or Spalding) or order online - but I do come for my prescriptions and I some of the Homeware and clothing ranges represent value and quality. I’ve always found the staff amenable and kind, but what bugs me is your entrance layout. Say you just want to visit for the Pharmacy - or even Travel Money - you’ve made the usual exit barriers ‘emergency exit only’. So, one has to go through the self service checkout to get out the store. Not so much an issue unless it’s a busy afternoon and you’ve got to get past people (who rightly believe you’re jumping the queue). I don’t understand why the exit barriers (by Customer Service) are not allowed to be used as once were in years past as an exit. One still has to pass by the manned security CCTV desk so it does not bypass this or mean a shoplifter is given some extra chance or avoiding detection. What it does do is cause people like me who have not come to shop in store more of a problem. Oh, and god help you if you go through the barriers (they are alarmed) and Mr Security is most unhappy and alarmed himself.

Tried using the pharmacy, always short on stock, or never have repeated prescriptions, as for the people they act like they are above everyone, avoid.

Went in to buy prime this morning, got 6 bottles, complied with the rules, then later I went to my mum who was also buying prime, she was denied because I had already bought prime. Makes no sense as there was a woman with 5 children buying prime just normally and my mum was denied because I already bought 6 even though she didn't buy a single one. Felt extremely discriminated. Just because I'm bigger and easier to see doesn't mean my mum should be able to buy any prime. The staff very really nice but just obviously handpicking for who to get prime and for who to not get prime. 1/10. Very unlikely I'll be visiting Asda unless these things stop happening. Extremely disappointing.

Absolutely pathetic place with rude and unhelpful staff who don’t care about their customers. I went to get a 6 item grocery order that I gave up on after an hour of trying to get it due to the level of staff incompetence and rudeness. The app wouldn’t check me in to say I arrived and I showed this to two staff and then showed them my order number and they told me I needed to check in. I had to go and get a manager from inside the store to explain this to the untrained minions at the collection point. After this they told me to get my car. I don’t have a car and I have six items so I don’t need a car to carry them. They guy then disappeared into the collection point for what I assumed was to get my order. However no order materialized after waiting in the rain for 15 minutes so I went in the store and had to rebuy the items. Now I am going through the process of a refund which is like playing chess with a pigeon. Never used asda before and won’t again.

Always empty shelves and very busy, not enough tills open. Most of items sold out, no one replenishes the shelves so I presume the warehouse is empty too. People with trolleys in line to basket self service area and no one even bothers. I don't like to so shopping there.
