My daughter has been going here for a few months and she has come on loads with her swimming thanks to swimming teacher Lauren she is amazing ! Always listens and helps and updates you on your child's progress after every lesson. So glad I picked here for my daughter to start her lessons, her confidence in the water has grown immensely. My son has been swimming here for the last year, and I have to give a special shoutout to Paige. Not only is she a receptionist, but she cleans, she lifeguards, she’s a showstopper. when my son started swimming here, he was petrified! Paige was there from the start, she eased his nerves as the teacher seemed uninterested and impatient, and now he’s been swimming for months! It doesn’t end there, she’s not only excellent with the children, but me and other parents agree that she’s the most helpful and competent employee at the swimming centre. I’ve heard she’s been working there since they opened, and you can tell she’s so passionate about the children, the parents, and the job as a whole, which is a rarity these days.
Paige was such a great help yesterday, we had troubles with our QR code to get into the changing rooms and we were almost late for our lesson, instead of not letting us through and making us late, she checked the register for our son, let us through, then came to the viewing area and helped about 10 customers including myself get the QR code on our phones, she was absolutely brilliant. We’ve struggled with the code in the past, but was only given a sheet of paper with confusing instructions from a different woman that works there, she made what could have been a stressful situation for many of us a breeze, we had our QR codes in minutes and now don’t have to worry about getting through the doors. Massive well done to Paige, she was non-stop yesterday helping us all, and has been nothing but kind, welcoming and helpful for the last 3 years we’ve been coming to your swimming centre! Despite the massive turnaround of staff, it’s nice to see that she’s still here working hard. If anybody’s struggling with anything or needs help, I recommend to ask for Paige, as through the years I’ve had all my problems fixed on the same day with her, while others I either haven’t heard back, or they haven’t been fixed at all due to lack of knowledge or experience.
I received a phone call from Paige a couple of weeks ago regarding a taster session, she was absolutely lovely and helped with all of my questions, I came in for the taster and she showed me around, explaining where to go, what to do, armband policy etc, and made my nervous son feel comfortable and safe by staying with him on poolside as he was crying, she cheered him up and he ended up really enjoying his lesson! We met her at reception after the lesson, where she praised him and gave him a sticker, we signed up with her as we wanted to come on a day she works, as she’s boosted his confidence more than any other swimming centre we’ve tried, and is just the most lovely, genuine person I’ve ever come across in a workplace before. Absolute asset to the centre, full of knowledge and amazing with children and parents, my son can’t wait for his lesson next week, and I never thought I’d say that. Thank you Paige!
The swimming instruction and the basic concept here is very good. The viewing area is a comfortable place to observe the lesson and the “star of the week” system encourages progress. Our children have made great improvements with their technique and confidence since changing from another swim school. Sadly, the facility maintenance is poor. The (two) toilets are dirty, rarely have toilet paper or hand towels, and one of the two wash basins has been out of order for weeks. The changing room floors are often dirtier than I am comfortable with. The hot drinks machine in the viewing gallery is out of order and instead of being removed or repaired is just left sitting. As another example, some jokes were written on the tiled walls around Halloween and have not been cleaned off, and now leave the corridor looking unsightly. Also, and importantly from a safeguarding perspective, there is supposedly a security system requiring a barcode from your account to enter the building. This has not worked for the several months we have been attending and I am able to walk straight in and enter the changing room without being challenged, even if my children are not with me (having arrived earlier with my wife). Overall we do want to remain members here but the experience would be greatly improved for everyone if some of the issues I’ve mentioned were tackled.
The pool and facilities are great, however my Son has been going since October and his progress has stopped if not regressed. He is now swimming with more arm bands than in his previous swim school. The progress in the app was only updated for the first time in a long time only after prompted by a complaint with more information on there about learning names and congratulations to other kids rather than details swimming skills.For such small class sizes the instructors do not seem to be engaging the students focus.
My little girl loves this place . We have been going since it opened and my girl has grown so much I'm confidence. She is very routine based and the staff work with us amazingly. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help. Very approachable. The fact I can see her progress when we log in is a bonus and we can see what we need to do to move up. We have always been informed of staff changes etc as soon as they could. The fact that the teachers when not in the pool are also seen around the pool etc helped my girl transition to macey when Sophie left (plus the handover between teachers) . All in all I can not recommend this place highly enough. Thank you swim mansfield
Started my son at swim! Last week, had a free trial which Mike was great with him. My son really took to him and was so excited to be with him for his lessons. This did get changed to Laura taking the lessons. Which turned out to be great, he's had 2 lessons with her and I feel she has pushed him. He is already confident in the water, but needs to learn the actual swimming. Within his second lesson she tried him without his bands on, staying with him while he tried, which he did great with but still needs a few more lessons to build him up more. Can't thank her enough for pushing him so much already and I feel with Laura taking his lessons he will do great and be pushed to achieve. He gets so excited to come. Thank you so much Laura
Could not recommend swim Mansfield more. We had lessons elsewhere previously and in comparison swim is 1000% better. We do the baby classes and Becky one of the teachers is fab nothing is ever too much trouble and you can tell she enjoys her job. My child is absolutely thriving in lessons we throughly enjoy our time at swim.
Not a good experience at all. Took my son to the trial session. He has autism and we have signed up to countless things over the last year and he’s never gone to more than a couple of sessions, so I thought the trial session would be great. We arrived and no one asked about his ability or previous swimming experience. They did a warm up that was just chaos, parents and children all in one little room. He went to join in with his first lesson and there was no attention to detail or support even though it was a small class. The teacher leading his group and the teacher from the group on the other side of the pool were just chatting. My son because visibly upset and frustrated, he was just lifted out the pool and put on the side. No real feedback, everything seemed to be like a chore to the teachers, no passion or dedication to teaching children a life skill. Really overpriced for the service given.
