Over the course of the last couple of months Tina has organised repairs to several pieces of my jewellery which have been brilliant. I have found her to be extremely efficient, professional and helpful - she certainly knows her stuff when it comes to jewellery. I have found my new "go to" person and hope she will be around for many years to come! Local independent businesses like this are becoming the minority and we must do what we can to support them x
Liskeard has its own (female) Basil Fawlty, but this one owns and ‘tries’ to run a jewellery business. Three members of my family have used Time & Motion for simple jewellery repairs and modifications. All of the jobs were quoted as an estimate to cost £30-£35, however on collection the costs were DOUBLE the amount quoted. Each time this was queried she stated that it was due to the cost of the solder used. Solder must then cost millions of pounds per ounce, because only very tiny amounts were used in each job to solder very very small gold links together. Not only the cost, charged is the problem, but the owner’s attitude is extremely rude and arrogant. You get the feeling, that she thinks you know nothing and you are wasting her time. My wife worked for and personally knew Michael Spires (of the Jewellery Chain) for some time, this person, would not have lasted 5 minutes working for him. We also knew and used to have our jewellery repaired by the brilliant John Baldwin of Tavistock. Unfortunately John is no longer with us so we decided to use Time & Motion, as they were fairly local. You would think most business’s at present would go the extra yards to gain business, but not this one. So if you want to be overcharged, treated with disdain and rudeness then you should have your jewellery repairs and modifications carried out and purchase your Jewellery from Time and Motion of Liskeard.
Our family has used Time and Motion for many years. Tina is friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. She has over the years always offered us a fair price for jewellery as well as supplying quality items.
What a lovely place and a lovely lady who owns it! Stopped in for an alteration to a watch strap (done immmmediately and very quickly)and found lots of treasures! Going back to claim them! Never been in before but the customer service was great and that is a rare quality that is worth shouting about.
This is such a special shop, it has a beautiful range of stock, I have had watch and clocks repaired here which a mainstream shop were not capable of sorting, jewellery altered and have commissioned beautiful bespoke pieces of jewellery. This shop is such a rare find and such an asset for Liskeard. No other compares.
I really value our local shops, but it's especially lovely when you find such a warm and professional welcome as I did here! Tina was able to sort out a watch which is very special to me, it is now in perfect working order. She made my day :)
Tina resolved a problem with a repair sent back to me... (that unbeknown to her had been supposedly completed by a staff member) This took a lot of effort on her part and cost. Perfect repair I'm so chuffed. Support her she deserves it!!
