   Stayed in Barn Owl for a week, nice area but little difficult to get to. Venue had swimming pool which was well maintained, the house needed a proper check before we went in by the owners Mildew on the shower heads all 3 Mats for shower's also had mildew so we had to clean before using, the extractor fan was not in one of the enclosed shower area. Cracked floor tiles in same shower. Cobwebs on the lights, single beds in large room were old and saggy need replacing, dust over window seals but think that would happen anywhere Kitchen floor was dirty but it's stone so again difficult to clean Owners need to spend time at property and see what they find

   We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous week staying in Barn Owl. There was 7 of us in total. My Mum slept downstairs whilst my husband and I had the upstairs double, our twin 6 yr boys had the smaller twin room and our 3 and 9 year old girls shared the larger twin. All the beds were comfy, rooms were spacious and had plenty of storage for clothes…added bonus was the tv in every room, which had freeview. Coming from our home with just 1 tv, this absolutely blew our children’s minds! They loved being able to snuggle up in the morning and watch children’s tv! Both double bedrooms had lovely en suite shower rooms and there is also a larger shower room upstairs for the twin rooms to share. The cottage was lovely and so warm, so much so that we didn’t even use the log burner! But then it was also quite a mild Feb half term! The open kitchen/diner and lounge worked really well for us 7. Again, comfy sofas, nice lighting and the kitchen had everything you could need to cook and serve up with. The TV also had Netflix, iPlayer etc and there were a few board games to play. The shared facilities were also very well maintained. The swimming pool was lovely and warm and changing rooms each had a shower, toilet and space to hang up bags and get changed. We often were in there on our own or crossed over for ten minutes with one of the other families. The games room is well thought out so our 3 year old had endless amount of fun with the role play toys whilst the older ones played us and each other at air hockey, table tennis, table football and pool (£1 coins need for pool). The park outside also catered for the little and the big ones and we could say hello to the pheasants, sheep and horses in neighbouring fields and see and hear the train in the distance. There’s a lovely space to kick a football etc, but it does ask not to ride scooters or bikes around. Another fab touch is that the cars are parked in the yard (right behind the houses) so when you are walking to and from the house and pool, there’s nowhere for cars to be driving. There was also a pull along trailer to use to move all the bags from the car and back! Nearby, we visited Haytor and House of Marbles one day; Cockington and Paignton for a great park and crazy golf; Babbacombe bay, where we spotted a dolphin and walked round to Oddicombe Bay and had a fab lunch at 3Degrees and Holme Woods. There is so much choice from 30mins away and a little drive to Newton Abbot to top up on supplies (we had tesco deliver to us when we arrived). Finally, our hosts were very easy to contact and checked in now and then to see if everything was ok and gave a couple of ideas of where to go and we even met one of the other owners (they are all individually owned) who was also very friendly and helpful, should we need it.

   Beautiful barn conversion complex. Great on site facilities with a play area for kids, a games room with table tennis, pool, air hockey etc and a heated indoor pool. It is out in the countryside and down some very narrow, windy, single track roads which had some flooding though, so tricky to get to the place.

   There's nothing like getting away from the big smoke venturing into the Devon countryside - it's full of charming villages, and places to explore and Newhouse Barton cottages are a good place to stay over. They are comfy cottages, some owned and lived in privately and the others are put on AirBnB. We stayed in Heron Cottage which was cosy for the four of us. You've got a games room and a pool to keep you busy during the day, but it gets locked after 8pm. There's also a dryer that you have to pay 1 pound for 15 minutes to dry your washing if need be. It's a great stay here, but the only downside is the internet which is very slow and cellphone signal which is bad. Other guests in the complex had the same problem as me, so you can always hook into the wifi in the games room for faster internet. There's also an electric charging station for hybrid vehicles too.It's a nice getaway when you're looking to disconnect from the matrix!

   Had a superb weekend here. Stayed in Rook cottage which was beautifully appointed and had plenty of room for the 2 families we were on holiday with. It boasts a brilliant play area and open green area for the children with scenic views across the valley. The pool is heated to a perfect temperature and the games room is stocked with a vast number of games including table tennis, pool, table football and air hockey plus lots of toys to keep the kids entertained. Super covid measures in place including sanitising wipes on each game. The cottages themselves are a short drive from Torquay and Teignmouth. Highly recommended staying here. We will be booking another stay soon.

   We stayed at Rook Cottage. Very cosy. Well equipped. The cottages share a super indoor swimming pool and communal play area. Set away from any main roads. Nice n quiet n safe.
