    Sadly I cannot recommend The Groom Room Lisburn. We had our cavapoo groomed at this salon at the beginning of December 2024 and we were very happy with the results. Our dog looked great and the staff member obviously knew how to work appropriately with her coat type. This is the only reason I have given them 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 0! We gladly booked a further groom at the beginning of February 2025, but this is where the problems started. We were contacted 3 days before the appointment to say they had to cancel it because the staff member who was supposed to groom our dog was off work. They offered to reschedule the appointment and the next available weekend appointment was for the 1st March 2025. Although we knew her coat would be very overdue a groom by then, we went ahead and booked it as we were concerned we wouldn't be able to find an alternative any sooner. We worked hard on maintaining her coat as best we could at home to ensure it was in as good a state as possible while we waited for the rescheduled appointment date. Unfortunately, we were then called four days before the appointment to be told this one was cancelled too, due to the same reason as last time! I understand that it is impossible to control staff illness. However, I believe The Groom Room Lisburn is being very irresponsible continuing to take bookings for future grooms despite the knowledge that their staffing is likely to be inadequate. This behaviour is leaving customers in the lurch at very short notice and apologising and offering deposits back doesn't address the impact of this behaviour on the wellbeing of the dogs involved. Anyone who owns a dog that requires regular grooming will know the consequences of overdue grooms and also how difficult it is to get a grooming appointment - many groomers are booked up for months in advance! Great grooming skills, appalling salon management.

    First time having little Declan groomed in the groom room & it was a great experience. Chelsea was so lovely and she did a great job on the little guy. He is a nervous dog and Chelsea was very good with him. Have rebooked my next appointment already

    I always took my wee cocker spaniel Lucie here for her groom and was always pleased with the results, i always rebook her next appointment when picking her up from her current app, she was due to go for her next groom but i got a call a few days beforehand which i missed as i was working, i rang them back on 6 occasions but got no answer to any of my calls and no one phoned me back, a day before her appointment i got a text to remind me that she was due in so thinking all was ok i brought her for her 9am app and waited until pets at home opened only to find that when i went in the groom room was in darkness and closed, when i asked a member of staff if groom room was opening they said no some staff have left, this has happened on 3 occasions now the latest being today when i got a call asking if i can take Lucie to boucher road branch as lisburn staff are off sick, NO i cant! she was booked into lisburn, ive never known a business to have so many staff sick, youd be better doing everyone a favour stop wasting their time and close your doors permanently, i wont be back

    We have taken our dog Sophie here on multiple occasions - and have always been happy with the groom that she receives. However lately we cannot get through to book an appointment - no one ever answers the phone, we have left multiple messages and no one ever rings us back and the online booking system doesn't work for us - with no contact number to speak to someone who can help to fix our online account. This is disappointing, as the staff have always been friendly and cared well for our dog, but now we will be taking our dog elsewhere as we simply cannot book an appointment.

However lately we cannot get through to book an appointment - no one ever answers the phone, we have left multiple messages and no one ever rings us back and the online booking system doesn't work for us - with no contact number to speak to someone who can help to fix our online account. This is disappointing, as the staff have always been friendly and cared well for our dog, but now we will be taking our dog elsewhere as we simply cannot book an appointment.

    Disappointed I booked my rough collie in for a groom in March, 2 days before the appointment I was phoned and it was cancelled as the girl was sick, so reschedule another appointment, again this was cancelled a week before it was due, yet another appointment and YES you guessed it another cancellation, so another appointment and another cancellation, beyond a joke !! He eventually got done on his 5th appointment 4 Months Late!!. So I booked my Father's rough collie in for a groom as my Father passed away and I have his dogs, all going well ,even got confirmation of appointment during the week, but it was to good to be true , I got a phone call today just before his appointment tomorrow morning to tell me they have to cancel as the girl is sick. I'm Sick of such a useless service , surely there is more than one person grooming dogs, I shall Never use the Groom Room again as They just let you down all the time . Absolutely hopeless. STAY AWAY !!!

    Not a great first experience to be honest. My 9 month old GSD is a big nervous boy and can be quite fearful. He also doesn’t respond well to other dogs. This was his first ever groom so I was a bit way and made the groomer very aware of his behaviour. When I went to collect him and asked how he got on, she said it took her 40 minutes to bathe him because he was afraid of the running water, ok fine. That he gave her ‘attitude’ when she brushed his rear and he didn’t like her brushing his belly. That he barked at another dog, which I did say would happen, and asked if he was aggressive. He came out looking ok but his front nails had not been trimmed, I feel like she must’ve just given up by that point. It was a grand job overall but my pup wasn’t very happy when he came out and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving him there again.

    My 9 month old Jorkie went to the groom room for his first ever groom (only had one “puppy groom” prior, which he was fine with). When I left him in the woman that greeted me was unpleasant and unhelpful. I showed them a picture of how I wanted my dogs hair cut and they said no problem (I wanted it left around 2 inches long). I left him there and not even an hour later I received a nasty phone call telling me that my dog was being very difficult to groom and that they would need more time. I was taken aback by this as he did very well with his puppy groom just a month before. Half an hour after this call I got another. The groomer was very rude and told me that they couldn’t finish the groom as my dog was being “highly aggressive” and would have to be sent home unfinished. They stated that he was so aggressive that they couldn’t even get a muzzle on him! At this point I was shocked, and confused, as my dog had never shown signs of aggression before. I went to pick him up where I was reprimanded and told that my little dog was the most aggressive they had ever seen and they’d never had to send home a dog before. My dog looked ridiculous. They had SHAVED his body, and not managed to do his head, tail, or legs. Even if they had managed to “finish” the groom, it was completely the wrong length and wouldn’t have been right at all. They did not listen to me or care what I wanted . After being thoroughly embarrassed, and then suggesting a SEDATED groom, I left and they didn’t ask me to pay. I got my dog groomed by a different groomer not even 2 days later (to fix the disaster they left me with), and the groomer said he was such a happy and playful dog, not an aggressive bone in his body! He has had to be cut much shorter than asked for because of how they shaved him. My dog was clearly scared, and they are not trained well enough to know that or know how to settle him. I am absolutely frustrated and appalled at how they treated my dog and I. Completely outrageous, even suggesting a sedated groom! I will never be back and would never recommend these groomers to anyone.
