   I went to pick up my dry cleaning today and couldn’t believe the way I was spoken to. The man in the shop was so rude, saying I took my time picking it up. When I explained that I was on holiday he replied in an arrogant manner that “that was some holiday..a month!” I replied that it was actually only two weeks, and apologised, but he kept up the arrogant tone and made me feel increasingly uncomfortable. I told him I would just bring the suit that I was intending to drop off to a nearby dry cleaners and he shouted out the side door to me “Good luck with that, Rathcoole closed weeks ago!” I have never had customer service like this before. The best bit is, two years ago he gave my husband’s suit to another customer by mistake and let us unknowingly turn up at the wedding in the other customer’s suit. We were more than understanding about it. Can’t believe how I’ve been treated.

   Queried the price and asked the guy to weigh the laundry (I had left my normal load in)but thought this would be handier and I wanted to support a local business. The scales were registering 3 pounds and couldn't be set to zero.The less than friendly response was,its only 3 pounds! The same as a bag and a half of sugar,a fair bit of bed linen. In fairness the next time I visited there was a sticker on the scales saying minus 3 pounds. As I was feeling increasingly uncomfortable visiting Abbey Eco Cleaners I delegated the laundry run to my husband. Just before Christmas I had to pick it up and was met with," If I'd known it was yours I'd have weighed it first." He then did (with new scales)and charged me not the fifteen he quoted initially but £10. I have gone elsewhere since then ...no problems and pleasant friendly staff. I have found any of the other local businesses that I support to be welcoming and friendly which is why I continue to support them.

   Good cleaners but need to update their web page I arrived at 17.37 to find it closed and shuttered whereas their web page showed 18.00 today. A wasted journey from Glengormley for me. Not too happy in heavy traffic.

   Have been using Abbey dry cleaners for many years and have to say the service I received has always been 1st class. I have always been greeted with a friendly smile and treated courteously, which is why I have been a loyal customer for so many years. I had a sudden death in the family and needed a dress cleaned for the funeral at short notice. I explained my situation and my dress was ready a few hours later as promised, even though they were very busy they went the extra mile to accommodate me. There always seems to be a constant stream of customers when I visit, so that says a lot about this business.
