Honestly one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in ages! Food is excellent, the atmosphere and lighting perfect, even a generous and good value kids meal. The staff were really attentive, we were made to feel so welcome, thank you for giving us a lovely evening.
We booked Basilico without knowing anything about it. What a great find. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really good, comfortable chairs and nicely spaced from other diners. Delicious food, good portions and lovely service. We will definitely be back and we will bring our friends.
We were looking for Italian food at the end of a visit to Bedford which we didn’t know. We noticed Il Basilico opened at 5pm which really suited our schedule. Although the first customers we felt warmly welcomed by the waiter, ambience and background music. The menu was inviting and we each had a different dish, all four dishes were exceptional in taste, preset and nutrition. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
I really enjoyed my visit to this place. The food was tasty and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back. Highly recommend to try calamari and scallops! A great place for a nice meal!
What's not to love. Beautifully decorated, amazing cocktails, awesome food and impeccable service. This was one of the nicest Italian meals I've had in a really long time. Myself and the others at my table thoroughly enjoyed our meals which included Pizza, Carbonara and a Spaghetti Bolognese.
Oh WOW. What an amazing little place I can see why it's 4.9 stars. Mains, sides and dessert all incredible, best risotto I've ever had easily and such a huge range of choices. The service was speedy and extremely reasonably priced, I highly recommend the Lemoncello Tiramasu, yum! But what really makes this place, is the friendly, chatty and attentive staff. They're clearly happy in their work place and checked on us regularly. I just can't fault the place. We will 100% be returning. Great place for a romantic date, the place is so stylish and cosy. Booked here as an early pre-gig dinner. Super restaurant. Lovely staff and delicious food. It was quiet when we arrived at 5.40pm. But soon filled up. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
Fantastic interior. We ordered three different pasta dishes and all were very good. The staff were very friendly too, especially for our little one.
Turned up with no booking on a Tuesday night with an awkward party size (5). The staff were excellent and found us a table straight away. The cocktails and food were very tasty and well presented.Its no nonsense quality Italian fair. Staff were really attentive and very efficient. The only downside is I thought the plate decoration on my creamy pasta was a grated truffle dust.. the pasta doesn’t need truffle. It’s great as it is. The plates don’t need the random speckled pattern but that is my preference. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.
We dined at il Basilico as a family for the first time tonight, as an early mothers day treat for my mother and my wife. The service from Holly and Nico was second to none and they were very attentive to our every need, which is indicative of good Italian hospitality. The background music and lit candles on the tables set the tone for a lovely soporific atmosphere within this charming Italian restaurant. The food here is very authentic and the portion size is very generous to say the least. To say you won't go hungry here is an understatement, a hearty appetite is certainly needed. There is plenty of seafood on the menu if your a seafood lover, however this is not to say that the menu doesnt cater for other Italian favourites like lasagna and pizza alike. We ordered a number of starters the mussels (Cozza Alla Marinara) were a real treat and the tomato sauce had just the right amount of background heat from the chilli, this was accompanied with home made house bread which was delicious. My mum ordered the king prawns in white wine and garlic (Gamberoni Sicilia), and the prawns were cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Brushetta Al Pomodor and my son ordered the Tomato, Basil, and Buffalo Mozzarella. Every one of our starters were delicious, cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. For my main course I ordered the mixed seafood spaghetti (spaghetti de pescatdore) my wife ordered the lasagna my son ordered the pepperoni pizza and my mum ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Trevisana. Our food was faultless and fulfilled my expectations. Compliments to Alex the chef. Everything about the evening was relaxed without feeling rushed or under pressure to order quickly. The restaurant certainly had a warm and healthy buzz which I can only put down to the relaxed and friendly service given to us by Holly and Nico. The prices here are very reasonable too. We are very fortunate to have many great restaurants in Bedford and this certainly ranks alongside with the best of them. Please keep doing what your doing. Thanks for a great evening, we'll certainly be back!!
