What a beautiful spot for some top notch fish and chips! We were able to sit out in the fresh air and catch a wonderful sunset. Everything is excellent value and service is brilliant.
Lovely views and sunny weather from our bench!! Took my mum there for a treat and we were not disappointed!! The service is lovely and our cheesy chips were super yummy! Will 100% go again and would recommend for anyone as their whole menu looks delicious!!
Came to try this highly recommended fish&chips. Had cod, sea-bass & squid with chips. Actual fish - sea-bass was really nice, fresh & flaky, moist, Cod great too, squid was a bit too peppery for is. Staff and service excellent. Giving only 3 starts for grease: batter in all dishes was soakingly greasy and overcooked ( very dark gold colour). Either oil wasn't fresh or well overcooked.
Well I felt I had to try this new enterprise down at Newhavens West Arm carpark. Firstly it costs 2 pounds to enter the carpark but before you winge, that is for ALL day parking and it only applies in the summerish season. Now to the food...... The two guys serving are very polite, cheerful and helpful. They serve out of a converted french van so thats unusual in its self. The menu is simple and straightforward, Cod and chip, Smoked Haddock!!! and chips, cod pieces and chips. with a separate board for today's specials, these included Bass and chips! We had plain Cod and chips at 9.50p each with a can of drink extra, so 20.00 total. The food is cooked to order so yes you will wait but it's better that way! The important part. Presentation was very good, the food was handed to us in sturdy cardboard boxes along with wooden eating utensils, napkin and very nice large wet wipe. The chips were excellent not a hint of greasyness and tasted great. The fish was of excellent proportion well cooked yet still deliciously moist. The batter was crisp and just the right thickness and I loved the slice of lemon with it. What more could I add, oh yes, the view out of the harbour! Outstanding effort from this young business! Update....they also have offers advertised on face book and I believe they may refund the parking fee but check with them first. I've deducted a star as neither of these was offered to us.
Spot on. Fish really fresh and local. Delicious and served thoughtfully in environmentally sensitive cardboard boxes, oh plus jokes on each one! Goto place on West Beach Newhaven, with picnic tables outside yo eat at if you wish
Top quality fish and chips. The fish is fresh not frozen and you can taste the difference. Friendly welcome and a great location. Nice you can eat there or grab a take away- the £2 car park charge is refunded if you do that. Ideal for a bite to eat before getting on the ferry. Keep up the good work!
