Nice place although very busy at weekends. It's hard to believe 5 years ago Β£4.95 got me a good breakfast of sausages, egg, beans and bacon here, when today a cheese sandwich cost Β£6.95. Very expensive lunch although obviously freshly prepared. Only 3 star for food as for the price the cheese sandwich and ham sandwiches weren't particularly filling despite the nacho accompaniment. The large chunk of margarine on the crust wasn't very appetising as I usually prefer butter to hydrogenated fat spreads.

I have visited on numerous occasions for food, however on my visit yesterday I was very disappointed to say the least. We ordered our food and I noticed the young man in the kitchen area putting his fingers around his nostrils and then had his fingers up to his mouth. I asked the young girl serving us if he was preparing the food and was told β€˜no he wasn’t’. I then watched him start preparing our food - placing chips in fryer and taking bread out of the packet, no gloves worn. I then explained to the girl I would like to cancel my order as I wasn’t prepared to eat the food with such poor hygiene standards. I really think when engaging young staff members they should at the very least have basic food hygiene training!

Large cafe bright and airy plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside tables and chairs along with a couple of suede couches, level tiled floor with wheelchair access through large folding door facing the park, access rear entrance using stairs facing small unmarked dirt surface parking area. There is a permanent visual display of the local geology in the park and surrounding area. Outdoor picnic tables are older style bench seats. Making it harder for certain disabilities to sit. A separate ice cream and frozen section adjacent main server. Music playing in background. Dog friendly. Doggy sausages and ice cream available. Hot food available vegan and vegetarian diets, kids portions, catered for. Freshly cooked English breakfast a speciality. Licensed. Groups welcome. A very eco friendly building wood pellet burner. Underfloor heating. Solar panels on roof. I only went in for a coffee (very nicely presented) No food hence no rating. Friendly knowledgable staff. They also manage an outdoor catering truck used for special occasions/ events. Very popular with walking groups, dog walkers along with other regular specialist groups. A large disabled toilet with shower! Is located alongside cafe

Didn’t try the food. But wouldn’t want to sit in there and eat with how messy the tablets were. There were at least 5 members of staff or more, Wasn’t busy but seems like staff were just rushed and panicked. Ordered at the till and waiting 10 minutes for our drinks just for them to be wrong. Ordered 3 large drinks. Didn’t take responsibility for putting the drinks through wrong. No apology. Just said well I put them through as regular. Wouldn’t go again, this ain’t the first time my order had been messed up.

Visited again today with my lovely niece. I had my first vegan sausage roll, nicely warmed up on this chilly day and a hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows) and both were yummy. Niece had coffee and a delicious cheese scone with butter. She rated the scone as best she's had in Sussex. Quite an accolade as she's in a mission to rate cheese scone wherever she can and she's rather well travelled. Staff were lovely as well and apart from the myriad new houses - the views are lovely and we enjoyed see the variety of dogs being walked. Including a very handsome Great Dane.

Lovely cafe, right by the entrance to Big Park, off Peacehaven A259, very light and spacious, with a very relaxed and chilled seating area, food was well cooked and delicious, it's quite near for me, it might become a regular winter haunt. I've not got a dog, but it's very dog friendly.

Nice little Cafe, only went in for a coffee while waiting for my car. Didn't realise the Cafe was there . Dog friendly, not that we have one,but handy to know. Polite and friendly staff, certainly go back there. Didn't look at menu, so no help with that.
