   The best in the area! I moved to Saltdean a while ago and have tried various fish and chip places locally and further into Brighton, and this has been the best by far! The owner is also very friendly.

   Great Fish and Chips at Saltdean Fish Bar! Saltdean Fish Bar is a fantastic spot for classic fish and chips. If you like your food well done, just ask—they’ll make it nice and crispy just the way you want. The portion sizes are generous too; a large chips is usually enough to feed two adults and a child comfortably. The staff, especially the boys taking orders, are efficient and friendly, making the service smooth and pleasant. One small tip: if you want any sauces, be sure to ask for them when ordering, as they won’t always offer by default. Overall, it’s a great local chippy with tasty food and great service. Definitely worth a visit!

   Been living in Brighton 7 years and this is by far the best fish and chips we have had. Everything we have had is delicious. We don’t live that close and the delivery is always hot and as quick as they can. Generous portion sizes too and a varied menu for a fish and chip shop.

   I’m extremely fussy about fish and chips, and often find them disappointing (greasy, soggy, lukewarm, overcooked…). These were truly the absolute best I’ve eaten for three years. The cod and chips were perfectly cooked, light, not greasy at all, and were piping hot (I nearly burnt my mouth with the fish- my fault!!). The guy serving me during the Tuesday lunchtime opening slot was friendly and efficient I paid £10.10 for a regular cod and small chips (a good size for one person), which I thought was very reasonable. I also like that they were wrapped in old fashioned white paper so no wastage of plastic or cardboard takeaway containers. I would definitely go back here again in a heartbeat.

   This was our first visit to this particular branch of Bella Italia and it certainly wasn't great. Tables v cramped. Food seemed to take an age to arrive. Toilets definitely not the cleanest I have ever seen! On the plus side our servers were lovely, if somewhat overstretched. Hit or miss, not sure I would return.

   What's happened?! Always loved the food from here apart from last couple of times. Tonight was a huge disappointment- our three cods were tasteless & mushy. What a shame

   Ordered and paid online for a 19:30 pickup. Told them we were in the queue on arrival. Walked out 2 mins later with our order. Fresh, piping hot amazing fish & chips. Still hot on the beach 10 minutes later! AMAZING 5*
