First time: I was pleasantly surprised! Not eaten here before, but service is very good and the food is yummy Had salade de saison for starters and Pork Escalope, that was really nicely cooked and sauce and egg were beautiful next to it Second time (Jan 2023): I was unpleasantly surprised! Based on my experience 4 years ago, I had expected good things. This time we had an afternoon tea, it is not nice! I would really recommend you go somewhere else for an afternoon tea. Savoury was OK, not much there but alright. Sweet, scones were almost solid...there was clotted cream but no Jam though the menu says there is Jam! Other sweet tarts were lovely. Coffees and teas were good. Our little one ordered burger but she ended up just eating the fries because the burger was quite chewy (we tried it to check). Staff were friendly and helpful, but they didn't have time to come check if we needed to refill our drinks so we had to ask when we needed some.

Popped in for Breakfast, a little pricey, but had a 20% voucher. Breakfast was hot and tasty, but a little on the small side. Coffee was nice. Its a good place to sit and watch the world go by.

Great view of the harbour. Plenty of outside sitting. British modern interior with a pub like atmosphere. Lots of patron capacity so they can accomodate large groups. Pleasant service staff and knowledge about their offerings. I would be pleased to come back to Cafe Rouge once again.

What a lovely Afternoon Tea at Cafe Rouge. The weather was fantastic so sitting outside to enjoy the marina was an added bonus to this great food. IF only they offered more of a veggie option instead of just cheese that would have be fantastic. But overall good experience.

I wanted to treat my partner to an afternoon tea on the seafront and Google recommended Cafe Rouge. Upon arrival, we were a little early but it wasn't busy so we got a decent table outdoors. We had to wait quite a while to be served, and again to have our tea. Although the service was slow we did enjoy the experience and the food was really exceptional. It is recommended not to use vouchers if you want a little flexibility in your order.

Food was good, if sitting outside it's a nice view over part of the marina. The menu isn't vast but there's something for most tastes. The bar, restaurant and toilets (that are upstairs) were all clean. Although the service was great for taking orders, the slight issue I had was that the servers would walk past tables and not take the empty plates away until it seemed a last resort!! A bit more attention to the all round service would have increased the rating.

Very disappointed with the service here. Although the food was nice (however the main was partly cold) it took way to long to arrive. After 45 minutes of waiting with no recognition from the waiter we decided to skip our prepaid desserts and left feeling unhappy and unfulfilled with our experience. We had to ask for our pre paid drinks too. Won’t be using a Café Rouge again and will not be recommending them to anyone.
