   Not a good afternoon tea. Mis-advertised. When booking the menu said selection of open sandwiches, a quiche and a selection of cakes. But, actually received only one sandwich (no selection), no quiche, and only one type of cake. Also overly sweet, but individual items were ok.

   Unfortunately couldn’t eat the afternoon tea here as the sandwiches and scones were stale and completely unappetising. There wasn’t any cake, just a rocky road… Obviously trying to cut corners on quality. Shame really as staff were really nice about it and seemed to understand. But for the price, I would never recommend it.

   We went to Benji yesterday and had such a lovely time! The cheese scones were absolutely delicious, and the service was brilliant. The girl at the front of house was so lovely always smiling and very welcoming. All the staff were kind and friendly. Thank you for the great experience. I can’t wait to come back again next week!

   An enjoyable lunch to bring relief from the shopping! The soup and hot food were tasty and all piping hot! Very friendly service. The basement has a wonderful cheese and deli counter, we bought lots there afterwards.

   This is a review about George, the young man who served our group of four at lunch, earlier this week. Sadly, two of the meals fell well short of expectations and we (politely) complained. George normally works in one of the other eateries in Jarrolds, and had been seconded to Benji's as they were short staffed. He was given no support by his manager (who chose to avoid us) in dealing with our issue, and the kitchen left him high and dry. So its actually 1 star for Benji's, and 5 for George, who was unfailingly polite, and wanted us to be happy. He will go far. While paying our bill, it became apparent that other diners were also dissatisfied, so it was clearly a bad day at the office in Benji's. George, you are a credit to your profession, and deserve immediate promotion.

   Our first meal out post lockdown since Christmas Eve 2020. Glad we booked as Benjis was very busy during the Privilege card holders evening. Seated in a raised table with a great view. Excellent social distancing measures Great food. Especially the starters. My favourite dessert with summer pudding was the ideal ending. Great service. Great meal. Thank you. Highly recommended
