A really nice little place. Food was the standout here breakfast was lovely with good quality ingredients and the scrambled eggs were perfect. Evening meal off duck leg cassoulet was good , crispy skin and moist meat. Sticky Toffee pudding was massive and just what was needed on a cold and wet autumn evening. Rooms were a good size, comfy, clean and tidy. But a touch on the cool side although an extra electric radiator was supplied, so wasn't a problem. It's an old building so it comes with some querks , floors a little bit uneven, Rooms don't have double glazing and are a bit moist, we were in room 4 so could hear guests down in the bar. Also had to wait over 30 minutes for breakfast to arrive a bit of a long wait, but the quality of the breakfast made up for it.

Our 3 nights at the Red Lion were beyond the best. The fare is super English and everything European. Our room was above the main pub and in the evening you can hear the muted sound of laughter, and conversation. The team are superstars and more kind than you ever expect to meet. The Red Lion in Cringleford is 400 years old. We loved it completely

Fab little find for an overnight stop. Annex room was clean and fresh. Lovely welcoming pub, great menu selection friendly helpful staff. I had liver and bacon and it was fantastic.

What can I say about The Red Lion? The food here is delicious, I've never had a bad meal here. The menu is really varied, but the fish offerings are excellent. One of the best places to eat if you love sea food. There is an excellent selection of drinks available, they have a great wine list. I would say you definitely need to book in order to avoid not getting a table as it is very popular. The staff are lovely, friendly and chatty too.

Really good quality food with quite a wide menu including pub classics and more. Prices reflect quality and service was very good too - we arrived without a booking but were accommodated which was much appreciated. Although there isn't a child's menu we were told the kitchen could prepare more or less anything. Very happy overall.

Bustling is a great way to describe The Red Lion, it was Sunday lunch time and the tables filled quickly, the staff were friendly and engaging, the food fab and the table clearing was almost surgically clean. We had the roasts and they were great, rare beef, great chicken, the roast potatoes were, as with most places, not like home cooked, but bulk cooking is not great for potatoes, The vegetables were alsi well cooked and the cauliflower cheese the best my partner had tasted. The Desserts were equally impressive, we booked another meal there before leaving

Very ambient pub with wooden panelling everywhere. The paper menus were big enough to have a larger font for the clientele eye sight. Mostly over 50s at 545pm. Specials board had good fish selection. Prices reflected neighborhood. Same as city centre. Average plate is £18-£20 . Worth a visit but expect to book. Tables get turned with a polite reminder. Check the bill doesn't include drinks already paid for. This restaurant has a working formula. Expect it will still be there in another 10 years.
