Good place for a long lunch and a catch up. Best to take a cardigan as it is a little cooler than some similar places. Food is good with a decent menu and most standard mains are under £20. Fishcakes tepid in the centre, though.

This pub should be celebrated for many reasons. The pub is open 7 days, and food is served all day. Not many pubs can claim that these days. Today (Monday) at 3.30 pm, we as a party of 4, arrived for a late lunch. The staff greeting was friendly and welcoming. Drinks were ordered at the table with a very personable member of the team. The pub has a very good selection. The Landlord bitter, myself being a real ale enthusiast was absolutely superb. The menu is comprehensive, offering a great diversity of meals. We all chose different dishes, but we all remarked how good the food was prepared very well cooked and truly tasty. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a proper, lovely, atmospheric, historic country pub.

We booked a Sunday evening meal for 5 adults at The Fox and Hounds. It was our first visit. Most importantly the food was delicious. We ordered a variety of starters and main meals. Not only did they completely amend one of the meals to cater for dietary requirements, each and every dish was well cooked and delicious. The service was good and the prices very reasonable. We did not order deserts on this occasion. Bonus, they also accept Blue Light cards. We will definitely be going back.

New chef has really made a difference. Everything’s tasty and quick service on a Sunday which was absolutely heaving. Haven’t been in for Sunday lunch for a bit- really tasty food and decent wine. Thanks Ray and Sam and Ellie x

I left Riseley 50 years ago and it was lovely to be back, a warm welcome at The Fox and Hounds, great atmosphere, staff and a fantastic choice of vegan food. They even gave me an early birthday chocolate brownie. Hopefully not 50 years until next time.

Welcome back F&H, it’s good to have you back! We had a burger and roasts on Sunday 19th Feb and all was delicious. Had previously had chicken burger with the previous management and it was dry and tough, just finished the BBQ chicken burger and it was delicious!! New menu is fab with decent vegetarian options, staff are friendly and proactive, atmosphere is great - would recommend! Hopefully you’re here to stay!

Used to be fabulous, went seriously downhill since last visit. No atmosphere at all, No customers, dirty glasses, overcooked chicken. I had a steak and it came drenched in pepper sauce and half of the plate was roughly chopped cooked carrots. Not worth the money spent, better alternatives available nearby.
