“It’s Decenttttttttt, Everyday i’m shuffling. In the Esquires i was greeping and shuffling. Guinness was up to standard and reasonably priced. The Stairs weren’t creeky and the upstairs room was alright. Mash on sound seriously cooked up the new sound. #LongLiveSarpaSalpa. This venue is not the same as it used to be, it is someone new. Bit Sweaty but that’s down to the crowd. But Eh, on the brightside, atleast i wasn’t forced to sit through a low girl concert.”

“Went to the Four Pears for a business lunch yesterday and had an amazing steak! It was cooked to perfection and the only problem was I wanted more! I had to leave for a meeting but the person I was with had a sticky toffee pudding that he said was divine. Definitely go here if you haven’t already.”

“We went to the Kings Arms to celebrate my daughter's birthday. My husband and I had never visited before; however, it is local to my daughter and her partner and they had highly recommended the food and cocktails. We all had a fabulous meal and delightful cocktails. I always choose a salad, if it is interesting and different, not just lettuce, cucumber and tomato. This did not disappoint, especially with the addition of two sea bass fillets. We left feeling extremely happy and very full, we will definitely return, thank you! ☺️”

Service was very good and the wait times for food given it was a busy Friday evening weren’t an issue. It’s been a while since we have enjoyed a pub meal and will definitely return!”

Would have been 5 stars for atmosphere if music had been quieter when sat down and if we didn't have to keep asking for it to be turned down, but after it was, the atmosphere was great (5 stars). We were particularly impressed with Jasmine, our waitress. Such a sweet, caring lady, she was very attentive to us and couldn't be more helpful! Nothing was too much trouble tor her, and she was very friendly, patient and cheerful and kept checking everything was ok. It made our visit very pleasurable and wanting to come back again.”

“After somehow never visiting this pub, it was recommended as a party venue. From the point of enquiring they were so friendly and helpful. Booked it for my nieces 21st and we all had an amazing time. The pizzas were 10/10 and so was the service! Will definitely be coming back and recommending to others.”

“A really nice village pub located in Oakley, Beds. We had some tapas and drinks. The tapas were really delicious and good sized portions as well. Reasonably priced and a lovely garden too.”

“Great experience! Visiting Bedford with my 14yo daughter, she steps in and likes what she sees, asks the very nice lady behind the bar about vegeterian options, but we are short of time. Next day we ride into town, go straight into Bar Citrus and have some great time over an english veggie breakfast :) Service is fast and pleasant with a side of smile, all clean and comfy, lovely food to top it all - Definitely can recommend to anyone looking for a quiet eat or a pint with a friend!”

“Proper pub in the middle of town. Haven't been in for years and nice to see it still attracts some of Bedfords more eccentric characters. Really good pint at very reasonable prices.”

“Our first visit tonight and it won't be our last. Had chicken goujons to start - with a good side salad - not just a garnish - and a tasty dip. Then bangers and mash. A very generous portion with 3 tasty sausages, peas, mash and onion gravy. Struggled to eat it all. Service with a smile from the barman. Will definitely return.”

The choice of dishes is very varied, so there are traditional classics on there as well as world fusion dishes - the chorizo Scot h egg was a definite winner! “Great selection of drinks and a lovely view to be had from the outside seating area that overlooks the river. I've had breakfast here, helpful, happy staff that can't do enough to ensure your experience is the best it can be. After the refurbishment it looks fresh and modern. Would defo reccomend this place. Price wise, expensive however you get what you pay for. Thanks :)”

“On a corporate level we work with The Kingfisher regularly in terms of booking meetings, corporate events and bedrooms. I can not rate Chris and the events/reservations team highly enough. They provide exceptional levels of service, never let us down and always go out of their way to exceed our expectations and ensure we return. Liaising with them is always seamless and effortless - nothing is too much trouble for them. If you're looking for an event location in Bedford please do consider The Kingfisher - their location on the river is especially lovely in the summer. Chef is great too - the food has always been very good - even when catering for large numbers. Just the bedrooms that are starting to look a little tired and in need of a bit of investment - but are more than perfectly acceptable and are always immaculately clean with high quality bedding and linen. However, this does not stop me recommending The Kingfisher enough!”

“Great vibe here. Older crowd generally speaking. The music is always fantastic. Latest tunes mixed in with the old skool stuff. Would be nice if they did a 241 happy hour as i would come here earlier than go to slug and lettuce around the corner. Always a great night out!”

“A nice discovery outside St Neots. Nice restaurant with good food. A bit overpriced burgers from your usual pub burger but it is sensibly priced based on the location and the type of restaurant. Sitting outside is definitely recommended, it has great views of the golf course and the lake, it's quite tranquil.”

“This pub took us ages to find. We needed a child friendly pub that was showing the football. We must have called at least 20 and had no luck! Lady was very friendly on the phone. We walked in and was greeted with a smile. The staff were all lovely.the food was incredible very tasty and very good value for money. For a family of 6 we all had drinks a meal and a dessert and spent around £80 Lots to choose from on the menu. Chef was great. Atmosphere for the footy was great! Had a lovely afternoon. Thankyou.”

“First time there and will be going back. Out for a friend's birthday and wasn't disappointed. Staff were friendly and music was great. There was a great atmosphere and everyone was relaxed. Just one minor thing was that the toilets were in a bit of a state with blocked toilets.”
