“I had the sopa da pedra, a sausage and bean soup, I’ve had it somewhere else before and loved it, and it was just as good here, and very reasonably priced too… I love Portuguese cafes, make you feel like you’re on holiday when you visit one! Also had a hot chocolate, which was lovely, so much better than mediocre ones you get most places. The lady who serves was very warm and friendly too, and they have newspapers which is great as that seems to be becoming like something from the past”

“Lovely staff who were very welcoming and the food was delicious. Great value for money and the portions were generous. Far better than big coffee shop chains. I recommend the grilled chicken and coffee frappe. Will definitely be returning!”

“Ordered 2 waffles, a biscoff and a chocolate one. They delivered the waffles within half an hour and they were absolutely delicious! The ice cream was lush and both waffles were amazing. I'll definitely be ordering again :) (They threw in a freebie sweets aswell, thank you.)”

“Can get very busy at the weekend. Check the facebook page for different themed events. Saturday 10-2pm typically is Pokémon time, where an army of kids trade and buy cards. They have a good selection of drinks and custom milkshakes. Aswell as food menu items. Good for kids and adults of all ages. Ps: they also have a free board game area with a wide selection of board games to play for free. (But also buy).”

“In truth, I don't really like cats. If I am close to them I tend to sneeze and get sore eyes, so I can't really enjoy cat based interactions. However, cats seem to like me so I am destined to sneeze through this life. Assuming you like cats, and you like cafes with cats in, you're quite likely to enjoy it here. Book in advance, and don't leave kids unattended. The cats might play, or they might ignore you. Cats are cats and do what they want, but you probably already know that.”

“Wanted to try a new coffee shop after our swim in Flitwick and heard very good things about Surfin Cafe. It did not disappoint! Lovely setting, coffee, food. Amazing music too! Sipping my drink to realise I was listening to Pink Floyd and The Smiths, topped off an already excellent experience. Personally greeted by the owner or maybe manager, not too sure but a thick Scottish accent was a nice touch. I would thoroughly recommend!”

“This cafe is a good place to stop whilst on a walk, a bike ride or even if you are going to the park. With a wide selection of cakes and drinks then cafe has a favourite choice of everyone's. Prices are quite reasonable and staff are really friendly and well mannered.”

“It is a basic cafe with a good selection of options using what appeared to be fresh ingredients where possible. It was clean Toilets were clean Food was what I expected at the price advertised. Staff were friendly without being fake about it. We cleared our plates and didn't leave hungry. Perhaps a radio on or a bit of music might help the atmosphere but not a big deal. I'm not saying this is the type of place you would arrange your day around but as I was passing and fancied a quick bite to eat we gave it a go. Pic is of a Jacket spud with butter, cheese & beans. (Likely some marg type spread instead of butter but it tasted fine) Salad was lovely and fresh.”

“I walked here from the town centre, it was approximately 1.5 mile along the Nene Valley, which is a river and it's surrounding wetlands. The cafe is very nice, it's in the same building as Northampton Active, which hire kayaks and rafts, the toilets are also shared (Waterside Cafe & Northampton Active).”

“Had a coffee while I waited for my car to be serviced so was there a while. Quite a few elderly people came in on their own, and I was very impressed with how friendly the staff were to them, taking the time to stop for a chat, bringing drinks over them if they couldn't manage to carry them, and generally checking in that they were ok.”

“Had a lovely late lunch here today! The food was good for the price, I had a chicken burger, which was cooked well and very crispy with flavourful chips! The mango smoothie and chocolate and raspberry milkshake were also better than expected. The whole café had a great atmosphere, despite being in a busy supermarket and the service was fantastic! Reeve was our main server today and he was great! Really polite and provided fantastic service, with knowledge of the food as well as his own opinion”

“A great cafe located upstairs in Next. I like my coffee and the team here take real care over the preparation. Not your usual high street mass produced coffee, it is much better. The food & cakes are really nice and I particularly spotlight the amazing Bacon Bagel and "Worlds best carrot cake"...yum Finally, the staff are a wonderful bunch. A really great spot for a cuppa.”
