My friend booked a table for five four weeks in advance. On arriving we were given a table for four and then later told by the owner he had over booked but every thing was ok. Due to the lack of space we had to put the water jug on the floor and empty bottles on the floor. My friend sat at the end of the table was subjected to a draught ever time the door opened so spent most of the time with her coat on. Food was good, service was questionable but mainly due to the table layout; passing food across guests is not a good experience. The owner disappeared once we raised our issues. He also dropped the card transaction machine on another customer. Toilet was out of use so had to use the disabled toilet, not great

I visited Rice a few years ago and went back yesterday. The new dining room is absolutely lovely — warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated. It has a really welcoming atmosphere. We started with a generous portion of chicken satay. Personally, I think it would have been better if the chicken had been coated in the satay sauce rather than served separately. I’ve travelled quite a bit across Southeast Asia and spent a lot of time in Thailand, so I’m used to satay being served in a sticky, rich peanut sauce with crushed peanuts. Dipping it into a tiny bowl felt a bit awkward, and it just didn’t have the same flavour or texture you’d expect from an authentic Thai-style satay. The mini spring rolls were a bit underwhelming. From my experiences in Thailand, I was expecting one or two larger, handmade rolls filled with fresh vegetables like carrots and cabbage. Instead, these felt more like the small, frozen party-style rolls you might find in a supermarket. The white vinaigrette-style dipping sauce didn’t really complement them either — a sweet chilli sauce would have been much better. The tempura vegetables were also disappointing. I’ve made tempura myself and had it many times in London, and across Asia, and it should be very light, crisp, and airy. Unfortunately, the batter here was thick and heavy — more like what you’d use for fish and chips. The vegetables were hard and crunchy, and the cauliflower even had raw batter inside, which made it quite unpleasant. Traditional tempura should have that delicate, crisp texture that melts in your mouth, and this just didn’t have that. For drinks, I found myself waiting quite a while. I think it would be a nice touch if tap water were brought to the table straight away, especially since Thai food tends to be sweet and you naturally want water alongside your meal. I also had to ask a few times for a gin and tonic. The green plastic stirrers felt quite dated and unnecessary — they looked a bit gimmicky, and since they’re single-use, they’re not great for the environment either. Switching to reusable or biodegradable options would be a small but meaningful improvement. That said, the main courses were lovely. The Pad Thai was delicious, and everyone at the table really enjoyed the Thai curries. The flavours there were spot on. Overall, the experience was good — there’s clearly a lot of care in the food and presentation. My comments are just meant as constructive feedback, as the restaurant itself is wonderful, and I’d love to see it continue improving.

This has been our first time visiting this restaurant as we wanted to try more Thai food as we find it particularly tasty and healthy. We entered and straight away the decor called my attention, it was sober but classy at the same time, the right mixture, in my humble opinion. It has been a very nice experience due to the excellent service that deserves praise on its own, we received a warm welcome from the attentive waitress and soon after we were presented with the menus which are extensive and you feel spoilt for choice. We went for the seafood platter for two as a starter, as we are seafood lovers. It looked impressive, but it paled in comparison with the flavour, a must try. After it my wife went for duck and I chose lamb, both dishes were flavourful and we accompanied them with two side dishes of rice, garlic for me and coconut for my other half. The drinks menu is extensive and gives ample choice. It goes without saying that we will be back for more.

Rice, Rice, baby ! Another fantastic meal at Rice! The starters of tempura prawns and grilled aubergine were both spot on – light, fresh, and full of flavour. Our mains of red Thai curry and dry meat curry were absolutely delicious, and the side of morning glory was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly cooked. Loving the new restaurant space – it’s modern, welcoming, and a great reflection of owner Nurul’s passion. It was also lovely to see how the renovations are progressing next door. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. A big thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary meal feel so special!

A small and cosy Thai restaurant in a central location with nearby parking. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The menu caters to all sorts of different tastes with a wide variety of meats, vegetarian and gluten free options. The tamarind duck with coconut rice and pad Thai in particular were excellent 10/10 dishes. This was my first time at this restaurant and I’ll certainly be going back, the food was amazing and everyone in my party agreed! Due to the small size of the restaurant I’d recommend booking in advance, and checking out their menu online.

I have been there with my family, their hospitality is awesome. All staff were very kind and gentle. I had my best Thai platter n green Thai curry was beyond my imagination. Very authentic flavor in every dish. I was really satisfied after eating there. My 16 months old son also enjoyed the rice noodles. Would love to visit again with our friends

Fantastic dining experience! We had the veg panang curry and the tofu stir fry with garlic rice. Both were excellent with just the right balance of savory and umami! The server was super nice. She was a breath of fresh air!

Having tried a few Thai restaurants, this little restaurant was one of the best Thai food had in the midlands UK. Interacted with a Thai waitress who was pleasant and didn’t sound even a little rushed when I took ages going through their long list of food menu. The good was amazing and reminded me of my holiday in Thailand. I will return and will recommend to anyone.
