We visited the Royal Oak this weekend for a festive afternoon tea. What a fantastic idea! The food was plentiful and excellent - true home made quality. This is a delightful and homely pub with a truly lovely atmosphere. All of the staff are delightful and the service is excellent. Overall a delightful experience!

Lovely traditional village pub serving a range of real ales alongside the usual drinks offerings. Had Sunday lunch which, while not outstanding, was perfectly acceptable. Also made the most of their puddings having the chocolate brownie which was excellent whilst my son had the sticky toffee pudding which he was very complimentary about (and he knows his sticky toffee puddings!). Definitely worth a visit

Popped in for lunch and had a lovely meal. Highly recommend the mushrooms on toast, and the chips were smashing. Slight problem with the battered fish, but the staff were very apologetic, and happy to put things right :) nice touch that the chef also came out to check in with us. P.S. They're dog friendly in the bar!

A really lovely venue, a very great menu with some really interesting dishes. A good selection of beer and other drinks, was warm and welcoming. Would have been 4 stars however for the price the food could have been a little better, mainly the steak was a bit fatty and when pointed out to the staff they were barely apologetic, and more had a 'oh well' attitude. Would go back and give it another go.

Visited The Royal Oak for a quick lunch. I had the "Stuff in the Oven" which was like a hotpot. Tender meat, delicious red wine gravy and vegetables (option) but you can have bread instead. Pleasant pub, will visit again!

Great village pub. The food was really nice and decent portion. There were so much meat in the lamb dish, the lamb was slow cooked so very tender and juicy. Children enjoyed their food, too. They have a good selection of the beers and a lot of tables in the outdoor area with heaters.

Charming pub with excellent food. What a gem of a pub is the Royal Oak. They have a good one way system in place to keep you safe and a book to record visitors for track and trace. The bar area is well laid out with a good selection of beers and sprits and looks like it have been recently been refurbished keeping the charm and features from the original building. The dinning room also looks like it has recently been refurbished. Once again very in keeping with the original building but very stylish with a modern theme. The menu is short but plentiful - something for everyone. We ordered and our food arrived swiftly. The presentation was spot on and tasted even better than it looked. Our mains also looks good on the plate and were super tasty and perfectly cooked. We didn't have a dessert as we were full! This pub is a real gem of a find and we will definitely be back at some point depending on the covid situation.
