I ordered the small cod and chips tonight and was amazed at how generous the portion size was. When the lady took the cod out I assumed they had mistaken my order off the size of the cod (thought it was a large by accident!) Chips were very nice as well. Will be coming back here.
Terrible service. Apparently when it’s busy you’re meant to just shout over everyone in front of you to tell them what you want rather than be asked. Large chips is £4.10 and it’s more like a small chips. One of those places trying to do to much rather than deciding what they want to be.
Our go to chip shop was closed so we had to buy from here on account of moving home and our house being in boxes. Bland, tasteless, stodgy lumps of undercooked chips that literally tasted of nothing. Mushy peas- okay as peas go but again no taste, watery and rather like slime. Very expensive for what was served up. I guess they have a sitting audience with those who holiday with the fresh sewerage scented air of billing aquadrome. Awful, ended up in the food bin as couldn’t bring ourselves to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls. Very disappointing. Bland undercooked tasteless chips seems to be a running theme in these reviews. Staff were pleasant. I can’t fathom how chips can be void of taste? Businesses run on reputation and word of mouth, won’t buy from here again.
Awful. Batter was thick soggy and raw in places. Fish grey and tasteless. Curry sauce was edible. Avoid.
Always great fish and chips at a reasonable price. Can be a good wait though at busy times as fish cooked to order!

Fantastically slow service. Ordering was like a rush to a bar in a club. No queue just a crowd of people and the staff seemed unaware who was next. After 10 minutes of being ignored I gave up and left. Went again at a quieter time. 2 people waiting for their order and I still had to wait 5 minutes to be served. No eye contact to acknowledge your presence. Other people who ordered after mestill got their food before me. 10 minutes later... apparently my food had to be specially cooked. Thanks for advising, not. Not exactly "fast" food. The counter staff need replacing. The food? Nothing special. I'll stick to my local from now on. Have a nice fat 1 star review for my pain.
