   Firstly IT'S DOG FRIENDLY! :) Went for Sunday lunch (but minus our dogs). Just one hiccup; I was the only vegetarian in a party of four. Unfortunately the available options were poor that day. HOWEVER ...please ring them beforehand to check. Because it's an EXCELLENT pub. Despite the Sunday limited veggie options the 'carnivors' really enjoyed their meals and are themselves repeat customers. I will certainly go there again :) ...but would give them a ring and a heads-up that a veggie was heading their way :) They're very considerate and accommodating so would, I'm sure, ensure that a vegetarian option was made available. The vegetarian meal they sorted out for me was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate it recommending the Over stone. It's a lovely place with lovely staff.

   Very disappointing Sunday roast. Im really not sure why it took nearly half an hour for our food to arrive as absolutely nothing on that plate was freshly cooked, with the exception of the under seasoned broccoli. The roast potatoes had clearly been cooked a few hours earlier, dry, grey and completely inedible and the Yorkshire pudding wasn’t much better unfortunately. The parsnips were brown and soggy and the cauliflower cheese tasted of nothing. I had beef which was ok, however the gammon my children had was grey and flavourless and they both left all of it which never happens. The pub is in desperate need of updating/ cleaning, the furniture is chipped and the walls are scuffed and marked. I will say the service we received from the waitresses was good, but that really the only positive.

   In for Sunday lunch, Kerri had the beef went to quick couldn't get a picture, pate was lush and a great side salad and onion chutney. Apple, cinnamon and raisin pie with caramel sauce and a great chocolate mousse for pudding, only issue is you have to turn your spoon upside down to get the little bit at the bottom but it was worth it. Staff are great. A great venue all round.

   A hidden gem with outstanding service! After a disappointing experience at Barton Hall, our group of 10 was left without a place to eat at 7:30pm. Thankfully, we found The Overstone Arms - and what a difference! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredible: warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, despite the late hour and our large group. The food was absolutely delicious - generous portions, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Everyone left full and happy! What stood out most was the atmosphere. Every single staff member made us feel relaxed and valued, and even the other pub-goers were extremely friendly - it felt like we’d stepped into a proper community pub. We’ll absolutely be making this our go-to from now on. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! Thank you for saving our family get-together! :)

   my partner & I went for a valentine meal Monday 13th february evening and also for my birthday (14th) Phil the chef who we have known for a long time allowed us to use the set val menu on the Monday. Food was lovely , the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and my partners 12oz ribeye was brilliant. Thanks Phil and his lovely team. See u soon xx Paul & Zoe

   What a transformation lovely atmosphere very attentive staff, food first class. I had haggis wrapped in chicken and bacon with mashed potatoes and peas. Was cooked perfectly plate hot made food more enjoyable. Dessert was amazing again warm plate, apple pie with custard delicious. Coffee cup was warmed before adding Coffee. Would recommend a visit looking forward to next visit.
