Not gonna lie thought it was a cookie place but oh boy! The food was scrumdiddilyumpious!!!! I was served by the one and only hayden and oh boy! He knows how to serve a fish. That guys enthusiasm should be studied because he was a holly jolly person to talk to. Girlie needs a raise and a promotion immediately you won with that guy.

Very disappointed with the fish and chips. Paid for large and at best received regular and probably the afternoon leftovers. Didn’t realise until I returned home. Very disappointed.

Used to be great 10+ years ago. Chips aren’t nice, they’re often soggy and green. Fishcake is a rip off and tiny and dry. Fish is ok but very pricey. The price changes every time you go in. Newcotts is so much better but involves a drive to Tern Hill. Not worth the money at all, you’re better off getting oven chips!

What was once a great chippy 1980s to 2000's has gone down hill. Large fish is a medium in real terms and thin ta boot. The chips were average with a lot of very small off cuts. I suppose when there is no competition since Dales shut down you can offer the least for the most £'s. Don't think it will ever get near the chip shop of the year title but with a captive audience I don't suppose the owners care which shows.

Don't be fooled by the prices on the menus on Google. Apparently these aren't their menus!! Even though you can order everything that's on there!! They make the prices up as they go along! First of all get told one price, then get a call back to say no its this price then when the driver arrives no its another price. Avoid getting scammed by these people.

Lovely staff who are quick and friendly when serving. Really good, competitive prices and it's always nice and busy- clearly good food! When we got ours, it was hot and the chips were fresh and crispy. Amazing!!!

I ordered fish n peas. It was very good. Crunchy batter at the ends of the fish & it was cod! Check out the pics. Hardly any of that horrible gooey white spongy stuff underneath the batter that you get at most chippies. Would I recommend &/or go again? Based on my experience, Absolutely...

What can I say. We've just moved to the area and are very fortunate to have found this place. The fish and chips are really tasty - the chips are not too greasy and not too dry and not full of little bits that you can't eat. Unlike some fish and chip shops, the fish actually has flavour and the batter is done just right - not too crispy, not too soggy. We also had a mixed kebab on our second visit which was a great size and full of flavour. The staff are polite, everything is clean and the prices are reasonable. You can also dine-in! Nothing more that I could really ask for.
