Stopped with a friend for a bite to eat and a drink. Very friendly staff. There was no need to book a table. It was a week night, plenty of space. Had the tapas was good, the chips were more like wedges or roast potatoes.
Was quiet on arrival due to hot weather and others choosing to sit outside or go to another pub with a garden . Staff were immediately attentive and were more than happy to help with choice of wine and offering a taste to make sure it’s what we’d like . we were very impressed with the wine, and the price.and the staff. We had Sunday lunch, roast beef for me, turkey for my best friend Jon, we both loved the fact that it was served hot not Luke warm like some places and what everyone expects from a Sunday roast We decided it was the best we’d had in a long time. Service from all the staff was fantastic. We also noticed that the empathy and familiarity with customers who must be regulars was a joy to see and rare in these days. Big shout out to Stanley who was the star of the day with his waiting skills. Thank you
Nice venue, service was perfect to start then a bit lacking the food was ok the coffee was ok, my mate & I had the triple roast, the roasted Julian veg was cold and the roast potatoes looked like they had been par cooked but missed the roasting and crisping stage. The meat was ok but a little dry and over cooked. When asked when paying was it ok I explained and just got an oh ok. Shame as it came very highly recommended. Might be an off day will try again
I like this place. Comfortable and nice decor. You can actually have a conversation without shouting over loud music. You can be served at the bar or service brought to your table.
We had a Christmas meal here on Friday for a table of 21. We preordered from the 3 course Christmas menu. The food was lovely. All the food came out hot and quick, with no problems. Harvey J looked after us amazingly. He was very helpful, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend The County.
We visited the County Tavern for Sunday lunch today. The service was excellent and the food was second to none. The vegetarian option of nut roast option was extremely tasty. We will definitely be back!
We had a Sunday lunch there and the food was excellent! The service was very good too! The beef was cooked to perfection and the roasts were crispy, good range of veg. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese - lovely! Very Cheesy.
We had a group Christmas dinner here last week and although the pub was very busy and noisy, we had superb food. It was all delicious, hot and nicely presented. My congratulations to ask the staff, we had a great time!
