The grey hound bar and grill is trying to be a lot of things but is not really do anything. The restaurant is very brightly lit. . There was a lot of staff about but left little customer services . To order the food and drink you need to go to the bar. The melamine ( plastic) plates were stacked and left on the end of the table. I had steak and my wife had chicken biryani . The steak was cooked nicely and came with broccoli ,sugar snap peas and chunky chips. My wife chicken biryani had very little chicken in it . The chicken was cooked nicely but did not have enough to taste it. When we finished we asked to take the remainder of my wife meal with us , the waiter brought her a tub and bag to do it her self . I can not see us coming again as it was quite a strange experience all together . D.A.C

Fabulous! Sorry the only photo we have is an empty plate, but the food looked so good we forgot to take one and jumped straight in. Service was fab, all staff really friendly, the play area is brilliant, 100% best in the area for an outdoor play area for kids, my little girl didn’t want to leave. The drinks were reasonably priced, food as well, and it was all fantastic and delicious. My only suggestion would be to add a kids curry to the kids menu, I had to argue a little when ordering to get a kids korma sent out. With such a vast Indian menu, to have all the kids meals be English is such a shame. When they did finally agree and send out a kids korma, my daughter loved it (see thumbs up photo) and if anything I think we should be encouraging children to try different cuisines. Other than that, the menu is great with plenty of options. The “normal” bar and grill menu is a little overpriced but without having tried it we can’t comment on the ‘value for money’. Advertised as a bar and grill which could be slightly misleading, with majority of the food being Indian cuisine. But honestly it’s so worth a visit! We will be back.

We visited this new grill and bar and on walking in we were greeted by 3/4 members of staff who all asked if they could help, they appeared to be no coordinator to assist guests. There were too many staff members all trying to do the same job. It felt overbearing. We were shown to our table and then had to go to the bar to order drinks and then a separate hatch to order food. The chef did make a special effort to ensure we had the right order. Woryingly we werent asked how we wanted our steaks to be cooked until the chef intervened. Food was OK, the two steaks were overcooked slightly, they were medium but was only just pink so mainly fully cooked. My son had a chicken tikka wrap which was stodgy and had too much lettece in which turned the wrap limp and soggy Vinegar was offered in small sachets as well as the salt. So felt more fast food style, plus we had to ask for these condiments. Drinks are expensive £3.70 for a can of vimto for my youngest son. The venue appeared to have lots of the staff's familes in the restaurant with the children running around wild and on a scooter outside. The restaurant was clean and tidy including the toilets. I hope things improve as we were looking forward to opening. But at well over £100 for an average meal for 4 it was lacklustre.

Tasty food however ordered one of the simplest things on the menu, consisted of three items and gravy, missing one of the items. Bar staff said they'd go and get it from the kitchen. Finished meal before member of staff came to clear the table next to us, told them not to bother with the peas. "oh I forgot about that the bar got busy". No real apology, no offer to fix the situation. Spoke to management and they refunded the meal "for a handful of peas". Absolutely shocking service. shame as we really like eating here usually.

Great staff and very welcoming. Food is of great quality and quantity. Only disappointment is that it was smash and not real mash potatoes with the liver.

Great food and great service! We come here all the time for the carvery as its by far the best around! Their daily menu is also very nice and we are always served with a smile from friendly staff. We even came for our Christmas Dinner here and it was exceptional!! Would highly recommend this place to anyone and we will continue to come here.

Use this place on a regular basis and have done so for the past few years. My wife and I have always been given excellent service by the staff. Sunday carvery is one of the best I have sampled in this area and the main menu caters for many taste buds which should satisfy even the most challenging diner. In this current environment when diners are searching for value for money, then this is the place to go. PS leave room for us please!!!
