   Best pub food I’ve had in a long time, yolk popped on my first egg so they gave a second one great cooks making sure the best food and presentation was served, bar staff was friendly who can pour a good pint got served relatively quick for how full the place was.

   Extremely poor food at lunch time. Considering there were no one else in the pub actually eating, the kitchen was certainly not rushed off their feet to take our food out within 5 min and this was certainly highlighted in the food appearance. They didn’t even bother to cut my partner’s chicken curry, my mac and cheese had no crust over it was just warm, garlic bread soggy, not crunchy and the loaded fries an absolute disappointment as if they just throw all the stuff on a plate and didn’t know how to send the food out quicker. Considering each gk franchise has to follow plate standards and they have pictures in the kitchen on how to send plates out, it was sad to see our plates. Glasses full of lipstick marks too and dirty tables around. Table was checked 9 minutes after receiving the food so we didn’t bother start the conversation as was too hungry and we already ate as it was. On home arrival, I had a horrible tummy ache too. Will not return

   Everyone was happy with their food, including kids and adult meals with gluten free and vegan options. Even had some live music to add to the fun. Staff lovely and very helpful. Welcomed the dog too!

   Obviously the food isn’t made with the finest quality local produce, but it still tastes fine and satisfying. Terrific value, £33 fed two children and two adults. A pie with chips, gravy and broccoli cost just £11. You’d expect to pay almost double in a higher quality restaurant. Our waitress was Daisy, and she was really friendly and provided great service.

   Have dined here several times since our daughter started at Keele Uni in September. Always had a great meal and the staff are always polite and attentive. Food is typical pub food but good sized portions and tasty.

   Seven of us went for Boxing Day lunch with our two dogs. It's very spacious and bright thanks to the big windows looking out onto the garden. The food was great and served quickly but the thing that made it special was the staff. They were all *so* friendly and helpful! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.

   We had a birthday celebration at the Gatehouse last night. From the me money we walked in we felt welcomed. We were shown to our table that had been reserved at our request. We were served our drinks promptly. We placed an order for food (there was 7 of us) food came out and it was delicious. It looked good to the eye, food was hot and portions were a good size. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was fantastic. Thank you for the team for a lovely evening.

   I went to the Gatehouse a couple of months ago with some of my family and was blown away by how good their steak deal is. When I saw the value for money was excellent, £8 for a rump or £10 for the sirloin, I promptly opted for the sirloin cooked rare with the peppercorn sauce. Usually in deals like this in large chains you expect some trade off of quality in exchange for a great price but my meal at the gatehouse was not that at all. The cut was great, no gristle or huge lumps of fat but nice and lean and perfectly cooked! The front of house staff were fantastic and the gentleman in a shirt was attentive and personable and came to check on the food and I could only reply that it was absolutely smashing. Thanks staff at the gatehouse I will definitely return and have this again!
