   I've been coming here for over 30 years. It's a family-run business serving top quality fish-and-chips. Unlike a lot of chip shops nowadays, fish can be requested in breadcrumbs or light batter, as a cook-to-order.

   I live in this area and have used Lakeside many times I have not been for a while but decided to have a chippy tea, what disappointment I asked for 2 small fish in bread crumbs and a regular chips, I took the food home the standard has dropped dramaticly since it has moved further into the family, the next day I noticed on my bank statement that I had actually paid £17.70 for my food. I challenged the fish fryer next day and he said that was right what I paid, I think £17.70is over the top he would not move on this my response was that he has charged to much and I wouldn't use this chippy ever again . Not recommended to expensive

   I love this chippy, it's about as good as it gets and I've been going for as long as I can remember (if they were open in the 80's then for that long). Back when my grandparents were alive I use to go and get fish and chips for us all and then sit and talk to them around their kitchen table. Now we have moved up here I'm getting to do the same thing with my little family. Keep up the good work I love your fresh fish and chips and you have never once given bad service.
