Visited for a weekday lunch. Beautiful building inside and out amd situated 5 mins walk from the center of Sandbach. Service was excellent although it did take 25 mins to get our mains to our table. Fillet steak sandwich was good for a small bite offering although possibly a bit too much bread(ciabatta) to steak ratio. Scallops were excellent. Turkey Christmas dinner was overall dissapointing - no Yorkshire puddings left and the mixture of brown and white turkey meat was lacking flavour. Accompanying vegetables, potatoes and 1 pig in blanket were good though. We fared far better on deserts. Triple chocolate brownie did exactly what it said on the tin. Black forest artic slice with boozy cherries was also good. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous meal, the best food I've tasted for a long time. Could not fault anything! So much choice, so in the end went for the shallots with ham, the Roast lamb as a main, which just fell off the bone, so tender. And if you fancy a pudding but don't want to be overfaced, go for the small dessert and hot drink. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Fantastic service, lovely affable servers who were willing to make accommodations and changes to the desserts. Food was very tasty. Atmosphere was great - real log fires were lit.

Very attentive service and the braised lamb was excellent. Mini-brownie and coffee were the perfect end to the meal. We drove quite a long way to get there and it was worth the trip.

A really beautiful building inside & out with lovely deçor. The staff were friendly & helpful when told there was a coeliac diner & a lactose intolerant & pork-free diner. There was a ramp to the right hand side for visitors with mobility needs (the main entrance has 3-4 steps).

Beautiful building, lovely welcoming, friendly and attentive staff and INCREDIBLE FOOD. Faultless. Best Sunday roast I've ever had in a pub or restaurant. Soft, fluffy potatoes which are crunchy and flavourful on the outside, tender meat, perfectly seasoned veg and tremendous Yorkshire pudding! We'll be back - next week!

Thank you for a lovely evening. We were originally booked for a table of 5, which changed to 3. Later into the evening, our parents could join us, so we went back to a table of 5. The staff were so accommodating of our change in plans, and the service was on point, given it was a busy night. Thanks again.

From Seonaid inviting us to our table, and the ambiance of a Grade 1 listed building, the scene was set for the Perfect Sunday lunch....... and it did not fail!! Everything on the plate was Stunning and of top quality! We had both the Lamb and Pork and both were absolutely delicious! They even had Pigs in Blankets!! The service was 1st Class and as you look out over the front gardens, the place has to be experienced. Thank You Old Hall, and WE WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK!!

So we had a large gathering here to celebrate a recent wedding. It’s a beautiful place and a lovely venue to cater for a big group with lots of different dietary needs. So we sit down, and me and my partner have a small very well behaved dog with us that you can barely notice he is there most of the time. One of the waitresses then spots the dog and in a very unfriendly standoffish manner says we can’t have him in this part of the pub. I was obviously taken aback by the rudeness, there was about 12 of us so obviously going to pay a big bill at the end so you would think they’d have been less rude. They agree he can stay but has to stay off the seats. That is completely fine of course. So we order the vegan roast, comes with a nut roast, butternut squash purée, gravy, hassle back potatoes and greens, made up of cabbage and green beans. The nut roast was huge and really flavourless. The purée looked glossy and lovely but at the expense of it tasting like xanthan gum and not much else. The greens where cold, raw and unseasoned. The potato’s where really bland, not having roast potatoes on a roast makes me sad. The gravy was tasty but needed to order another jug as there was minimal. We where asked if we wanted dessert and then where told there was no vegan option apart from the usual sorbet cop out. Disappointing for a vegan, going off the look of the place and menu descriptions my expectations where not met.
