We visited for my birthday meal in December 2025. Given the building’s historic value to Sandbach, the owners should be proud of what they have achieved at The Wheatsheaf. The bold move of closing the old coach house entrance to create another bar area some years ago has added value to a very important part of town. There is a really nice ambiance throughout, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. I had the Bluebell steak and ale pie and my partner the turkey dinner from the Christmas menu. I look forward to seeing what the owners have in store for the acquired adjacent building (the old NatWest bank) and wish them every success.

We had two hours to spare in Sandbach and found The Wheatsheaf - what a beautiful pub. They managed to find us a table. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service. Delicious bottle of pinot noir and the food was exceptional - we had the duck and the seabass, presented beautifully. The decor is upmarket and creates a sophisticated atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel. Very friendly and accommodating. Sandbach has lots lots of walking distance pubs a lovely Thai restaurant. Would definitely use again! Only negative is the amount of EV chargers available. Would be great if the hotel invested in a couple.

Great place for an evening meal. We stopped in without a booking and after a short wait were seated. The group had the rump steak, beef & guiness pie and the lamb shank. All were delicious. They had a variety of beers on tap. We tried a selection of the IPAs. Service was prompt and attentive. Highly recommended.

Booked for a Sunday lunch with friends here and enjoyed a very pleasant meal. The Sunday menu you can choose from starters, main & desserts, so £13 for the main. 3 of us chose the Sunday roast which was very good as you get good slices of meat. I would have liked some green vegetables but it didn't spoil the meal. Service was very good even though it was busy and the staff were very helpful. Would definitely return

A wonderful pub/restaurant. We stopped for a bite to eat with no booking and were accommodated without hesitation. The staff were all lovely but service was a little slow - we did have to ask where our desert was but we did seem to be eating during a shift changeover. However the food was worth the wait. The steak sandwich was beautiful and the brownie desert was one of the best I’ve had. Will definitely be back.
