Had a lovely fresh battered fish tonight with pea fritter which was yummy, not had one of those before. Very nice staff and the owner was very jolly. Great service as usual. Highly recommended. 5*
Chips were great as usual however this evening we had 2 small cod at £5:10 each. They were thin and tasteless, would never have fish again. What ever happened to the chunky cod fish.
Popped in for a sausage each and a portion of chips between us on Saturday. Chips were lovely, sausages were very dry and overdone. They tasted like they had been cooked, sat then reheated when needed. Since Saturday evening I have had stomach pains, been sick and have lost my appetite. Think it may be a case of food poisoning. A shame really as we last came here in December and the food was lovely. Won’t be rushing back to eat here.
First time visit in a long time, probably my last visit for a long time, The chips, and potato fritters had been there for too long. Sausage was dry and overcooked. On a positive, my partners southern fried chicken was nice as were the peas apparently.
Excellent cheeseburger £2.80 with salad included and IMHO the southern Fred chicken breast £1.90 today is better than KFC!
Excellent lightly battered cod and chips.Staff allowed us to sit in and eat on premises on a Friday night. Very welcome feed after a beer or two.. .

Grabbed some much needed chips, gravy and peas on my rainy cycle home. Really friendly place and the food was superb. Will be popping in again soon. Wish I lived closer!
After 15 months of isolating from covid and not being anywhere, as the elder generation with underlying health conditions, I was concerned about safety visiting a takeaway, but was desperate to do something safely. Will not be any more. I enquired by messenger to ask procedures etc and they gave all the information I needed to feel safe. I ordered on line, click and collect, paid too and gave a collect time. It was brilliant. The fish and chips were delicious and it was a big big treat. Would recommend anyone in the area, who like me, feels its hard to venture out.
