Fabulous Sunday roast, wanted somewhere that wasn't a chain and this place really delivered. Amazing Sunday roast and really good service and well priced especially for the portion sizes. Kids well looked after you, non of this beige nugget and chips! Interior is lovely too, very well decorated. Will stop there again!

Visited The Buttercross today for Afternoon Tea for Two. £12 each. We changed the choice of tea to coffee. Couldn’t fault it one bit. Large selection of varied sandwiches and cakes. Ended up taking some cakes home which is apparently what usually happens. Staff were very attentive and polite. The venue is spotless including the beautiful bathroom. We chose to sit upstairs which was light and airy, with the beautiful autumn sunshine coming through the windows. Hence the dreadful photos. All the meals or snacks we saw being served looked well presented and diners appeared to enjoy. I thoroughly recommend The Buttercross, whether it’s just for a quick coffee, cake, snack or full meal. The place is only as good as your staff, and this is apparent, from the cleaners, to chefs and front of house. Highly recommended.

We've just had a lovely late lunch after visiting the floating market on the canal. All the staff were working very hard, with a constant stream of customers and the difficulty of the card machine not working so having to ask customers to use cash for payment. Our sandwiches were delicious, tasty and freshly made - definitely worth the short wait. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his huge pot of tea! Well done to everyone, you kept on smiling through a few challenges today.
